"One of the best hidden place to visit when in San Francisco. It includes a very beautiful and short, high elevation hike. The path to and around light house is very scenic and one can see the Golden gate and a panaromic view of the san Francisco city. The light house has a one of a kind volcanic rock formation to its left which forms a arch, can be seen from the bridge leading to the light house. The place holds a good piece of history with it and most of it is depicted inside the light house with pictures (A small museum). Was not very crowded when i went during a Sunday. It's free to visit. Free Parking, Parking is limited but one can park on the road side down the road. Keep drinking water specially during sunny days. Make sure to look up the timings before visiting. They also do sunset tours which can be booked from there websites."
"This lighthouse is located in the Marin Headlands near San Francisco, California. It marks the entrance to the Golden Gate, providing guidance to ships navigating the bay. The lighthouse offers stunning views of golden gate and is accessible via a short trail, though check for visitor information as access may be limited at times. We just loved the picturesque location! A must visit place."
"A short hike, lovely views along the way too. Was not too crowded around 1pm"
"Amazing place to visit. The history surrounding the lighthouse is fascinating. Beautiful views from the lighthouse. Nice hike to get there. Be sure to talk with a National Park Service ranger to get the full history."
"This is a 5-star spot, BUT the gate to the tunnel & causeway are LOCKED outside of the very limited Lighthouse open hours, so a beautiful morning visit ends at the mouth of the tunnel (& so just 4 stars from me this time). This isn’t clear in online descriptions, & we were among several early morning visitors who were disappointed that day. Otherwise, an amazing, unique location, an unusual perspective on The City, rare spot where you can stand with the Ocean on both sides! Paved trail down from the parking area BUT surprisingly steep, & littered with loose soil, so wear proper footwear, & watch your step. Will try again to cross the tunnel when it’s open."
