"Absolute worst insurance you can ever go to. The customer service representatives don't answer emails when really needed and phone calls are pretty much useless, as they just disregard your concerns and are cold faced about it. They take forever to redirect you to appropriate providers and it turns out those providers AREN'T EVEN PROVIDING THE REQUESTED SERVICE. Providers on their OWN WEBSITE are apparently out of network, and they don't gives a single penny about it when you complain. Like you don't think it can get any worse and VHP manages to break the world record. Seriously save yourself and avoid VHP at all costs, they need to be criminally investigated and shut down."
"I wish I could give this place 0 or -0 stars. The receptionist here are not customer service oriented. They are cold as ice and on top of that they lost my paperwork needed to be submitted for important medical care. I’ve waited literally 4 months, I’ve submitted paperwork here twice, First time someone got it right, second time now. Start taking down names and times, dates because apparently when you call VHP, they require that to trace your paperwork, if you don’t, you are out of luck and you are required to go through a whole new process. Get it together VHP. Every-time I asked for a manger they are quick to dismiss me, no accountability. Probably have to go higher."
"I was in a situation where this company refused to let me opt out of their plan for a certain time frame. They are now refusing to pay my providers for services rendered during that time even though I followed their instructions on how to get those services covered. Avoid this company at all costs. There are cheaper and relatively close cost options now."
"My wife has been insured by VHP for about 7 years and I have seen her have problems from day one. We usually try to develop a relationship, try to see what is good and make use of services to make the best of it. However, this insurance service is so bad it should be reported and investigated. After 7 years of trying to make the best of it I have to be honest, it was a wasted effort on all fronts: website user friendliness, the doctors, the care, and the customer service was way below standard, in my opinion, (as well as in the opinion of most reviewers here - and I don't easily jump on the bandwagon). Customer service support calls literally do not get answered, ever. This is just a perfect example of why we need proper regulation and/or a better, universal or single-payer health care system that actually serves the needs of the people and isn't so terribly disfunctional. Unless you have no other option, my recommendation is to stay away from VHP, it is not worth it."
"If I could give this insurance zero star I would. Customer service will hang up on you and 99% guarantee will not give you a call back if promised. They will cut you off from your insurance without telling you and you will get a tax penalty so if you want to enter this nightmare, go for it. Their website is developed poorly and erases your payment history so you can't claim that you have made payments. Don't get me started on their processing team. If you want anything to be changed, good luck waiting for at least a month. There's other options out there, don't choose VHP"
