Northstar Early Learning Center - Hudson

"We went to this center with three kids for almost three years. It seems like they've been in a constant state of trying to improve, always seeming to blame issues on someone else. Over the last year they lost a lot of the long term teaching staff. Once I'd had some rough conversations with the current leadership I'd realized that I didn't want to stick around and hope that the conditions did actually improve, and we went elsewhere. It's only been a few weeks at the new place but it's really shown how much was going wrong at Northstar that had become normal to us. I absolutely witnessed some of the same issues or concerns as other negative reviews on here. Teachers were always on their phones. There is a lot of yelling, some teachers don't even realize they're yelling - it just seems to be their tone now. I walked into the room during nap time when staff was sleeping - contemplated taking my kid without saying anything to see what they did when they realized he was gone, but did wake them up to say he was leaving. This summer they sent out a communication after firing the director that had the owner's phone number on it encouraging people to reach out if they had concerns. I tried calling many, many times but the number was never answered. We did have some good teachers and many good interactions along the way! The app with daily photos and updates was really great. Most teachers also answered any messages quickly."

"We have been at Northstar for over 5 years and have been so pleased with the care both of our children have received. Every teacher knows my kids by name even if they didn’t have them in class and make it a comfortable and safe place to grow and learn. The communication is consistent and have felt the support from the leaders in the center. They offer many fun activities, good food and a clean atmosphere. We have been very grateful for all Northstar has done for our family!"

"Our 2.5 year old son has been attending Northstar for a year now and absolutely loves it! His teachers are so kind, loving and fun. They plan lots of learning experiences and provide the best care for him while his dad and I have to work. We also recently enrolled our daughter at Northstar 1.5 months ago in the infant room. The staff are very open with their communication and helped brainstorm ideas when we were struggling with bottle feeding. I find peace of mind knowing that my babies in the very best of care. I love all that this facility has to offer. They plan many community events that are so much fun for the whole family to enjoy, provide live camera feeds and the HiMama app that gives updates throughout the day on what your children are eating, when they are sleeping and what they are learning. Getting photos and videos throughout the day makes my momma heart happy! Would definitely recommend Northstar to anyone who is looking for care for their children!"

"We have been at Northstar for about 7 months and like it! We unfortunately have experienced a lot of staff turnover in these 7 months. With that being said, the executive director and assistant director have been great about answering questions and are open and honest with any questions we have had. They also have been working in the classrooms to keep familiar faces for the little ones. They offer well balanced meals, fun dress up days, and other fun activities. They adjust to any need or change for your child with a positive attitude and no hesitation.The camera system is also great!!"

"Our daughter has attended Northstar since she was 5 months old, and we love it! We have very high expectations for our daughter's care, especially given that she has a food allergy, and our expectations have consistently been met: - The staff follow safe sleep protocols for infants, keep open, honest, and consistent communication with us as parents, and provide our daughter with a safe, loving place to learn and grow. - Staff in both leadership and classroom positions are very approachable and work with you to address any concerns you may bring to their attention. Any concerns we have brought to the staff were addressed and corrected immediately. - Students of all ages are provided with developmentally appropriate learning activities. - The facility is clean and well organized. - The food program provides healthy, well-balanced meals, and alternate options and separate settings have been provided for our daughter when a food selection may contain or does contain her allergy source. - Each classroom is equipped with cameras. - The pricing is incredibly affordable (by far the most affordable center in the Hudson area, in my opinion) and the quality of care is outstanding. - The staff are caring, attentive, and make their love for each child obvious and well known. Our daughter is met with open arms (literally and figuratively) every day, and she loves going to school every day. We are so happy that we found Northstar and are so thankful for the staff. They are so much more than "daycare employees": they provide trust, love, nurturing, protection, education, comfort, and so much more to all students. We are proud to be a Northstar family!"
