Reviews of The Mining & Rollo Jamison Museums
"This is the second time we have visited the museum and took the tour. It's very interesting and informative. When you go down into the mine you get to walk down into it and walk around which is very amazing."
"Local tourist highlight. History of the region, antique collection stretching back 150 years, tin and lead mibextid tour and operational lead mine railway repurposed for passengers. Annual heritage day is July 4th."
"Thoroughly enjoyed our visit. Everyone was so friendly and informative, from the young man who signed us in, to our guide, who was exceptional. He was very knowledgeable and informative. He was exceptionally patient and kind to our grandson. He even let him ring the bell on the train, which is a very big deal for an 8 year old!"
"We stopped in on our way to another destination. The exhibit is very nicely put together. There are many stairs DOWN and obviously back UP from the mine. You will be required to wear hard hat. The tour was nice. The guide was very knowledgeable the only issue is she has a naturally quiet voice so it was hard to hear stuff with the size of our group. There are restrooms in main lobby. Some snacks and drinks in gift center."
"Nice museum with easy access to a former mine of lead. The access to zinc mine (lower) has been lost, or at least not accessible to general public. Well organized, lit. Plenty of artifacts and manikins dressed as miners. The guide, a retired mine engineer, was very knowledgeable."
