"Wish I could give less than one star. Visiting Hillsboro area for nostalgia with family and the lady that MUST be the owner (or else I don’t know how she isn’t fired by now), is the most impolite and rude person I’ve met. Clearly doesn’t want to be there. Easily the worst winery in Wisconsin. Wish I would’ve read the majority of these reviews before going, lady is miserable. Off to the distillery instead. Don’t go here."
"Well 3 of us were excited to drive out to this winery from different areas. I checked the website before leaving and it said opened so we met there about noon today (Monday). It is locked and completely dark. As we were getting and loading a wheelchair back into the vehicle a man came out to say that he wasn’t feeling well and didn’t want to expose us to it! Ok but why not update the website before people make plans and drive out there just to be turned away! Not sure if I’ll try it again or my!"
"My husband and I stopped here on a beautiful Saturday afternoon. We were literally the only people there so that should've been our first red flag. The woman came out of the back - I don't recall what she said to us, but I know I didn't feel welcomed and we had to ask if we could do a tasting. The only reason I am giving 2 stars is because the price for the tasting was reasonable. $5, $10 or $15 (I think), depending on what size glass you select and you can keep the glass. We just selected the smallest glass and like others, had to pay up front, which I thought was weird. We have been to numerous wineries and nobody has ever asked us to pay up front for the tasting. The tasting felt rushed and they only had 8 wines, most of which had that twinge you taste when wine has gone bad. None of it was appealing at all. We have experienced that at other wineries, but always try to be supportive and just pick a wine we can drink so we can sit and enjoy the experience and the venue. The venue is beautiful and has lots of potential, but neither of us felt that there was any experience worth trying to stay and support. Any attempt at small talk seemed forced - the whole experience was just awkward and unpleasant. We will never return nor recommend this place to anyone."
"Stopped on a beautiful but quiet Monday afternoon in August with the owner providing the tasting. He was friendly and informative about the wines. We enjoyed a glass on the lovely patio and took a bottle to enjoy at home."
"Just a beautiful and peaceful place. Their wine selection was very good and better than the other fine wineries in the area due to their years of experience and the use of their own grapes to make of their wines. Terry was very nice and her hospitality has very nice to is all. She even allowed us to walk thru the vineyard and taste the grapes. Big selection to choose from and they ship to your home, only purchased 4 bottles only cause I purchased 4 at other wineries and I had to carry with me on the plane. Definitely will be ordering from their website in the future."
