The Carlton County Historical Society
About the Business
The Carlton County Historical Society, located at 406 Cloquet Avenue in Cloquet, Minnesota, is a unique institution dedicated to preserving the history of Carlton County. As a library, museum, and tourist attraction, we collect artifacts, remember important events, and gather individual stories from our ancestors and neighbors. Our Annual Meeting will be held at the Cloquet Forestry Center on April 25th, featuring delicious catering by Room at the Table. We have added an Oral History page with stories from community members who witnessed significant events in the county's history. Our bookstore offers books by local writers and a collection of poetry and art. Children are welcome at our museum, and we offer research services for those interested in learning more about Carlton County's past. Consider joining or donating to support our mission of preserving and sharing the history of Carlton County.

Reviews
"I've really found the place to be fascinating. When I first came to Cloquet, it was one of my first stops and since then, I like to stop by from time to time to learn about the history of the area."
"Awesome spot"
"The Carlton County Historical Society is located in the town's old library. While the permanant exhibits feature the fire of 1918 and the logging days, there are regularly new exhibits coming and going. The staff is helpful, and they are eager to teach you things you may not have known about the history of the town, the building, and the county."
