"*** READ THIS IF YOU FEEL STUCK W NO OPTIIONS*** I would like to begin by saying that completing each procedure efficiently and accurately is important for any hearing evaluation. Being able to interpret these results to develop a Plan of Care is what differientates an Audiologist who uses comprehensive evaluation tools versus someone simply adminstering a hearing test (without ANY traditional methods of amplification treatment!) The Doctor who tested my daughter did well with engaging my daughter with the test. As far as communication with parents, she was extremely subpar. My daughter cannot hear well when ANY background noises are present. Testing her in a soundproof room where she is very focused on the task at hand is not indictive of if she does or doesnt have hearing problems. My daughter has a severe speech issue and as a parent it is our duty to do everything in our power to get our babies help! I know it can be difficult but dont give up! Go up the chain of command until someone gives you a full comprehensive evaluation. Ask for an "educatuonal audiology evaluation." It is a lot more thorough than a standard hearing test!"
"My son was seen for a routine visit by his Nurse Practitioner and she thought she heard a murmur so referred him to a cardiologist. I didn't think this was an issue because I had two large anatomy scans while pregnant and the doctors never saw anything, but I took my son for a follow up visit anyway. Upon check in, they had me electronically sign various documents but I had no idea what I was signing for. I do not remember signing a financial agreement for EKG and chest xrays. We were rushed to the back to have various diagnostics done including EKG, chest xrays, and vitals before seeing the doctor. I was under the impression that we would see the doctor, he would listen for any irregularities and prescribe any necessary imaging and tests. After the unnecessary tests were done, the doctor came in for less than 5 minutes, listened to his heart and said, "I don't hear anything" and that was the end of the appointment. As a doctor, I thought he would have at least met the patient and take a more conservative approach to diagnosing before subjecting a newborn to unnecessary radiation. The staff was very nice, but the protocol was terrible. I spoke to the clinical coordinator and she seemed empathic and said she would look into it and give me a call back, but never did. I would not recommend this place to anyone and if so, definitely ask what the appointment entails prior to letting your child be taken away by medical assistants. Have the doctor see the patient and prescribe the necessary tests."
"I have taken my daughter to Rady's Urgent Care (Oceanside) many times and have received excellent service every time. The doctors/nurses are compassionate and thorough. We are checked-in, evaluated by the doctor, diagnosed, and check-out in less than an hour! I have opted to wait until after hours to see a Physician at Rady's instead of my daughters regular Primary Care Doctor because the process is usually faster and less busy (thus, minimal exposure to other illnesses in the waiting room). I am grateful for this alternative to the E.R."
"We came here for an appointment to see urologist for my baby , and the doctor seem on a hurry was almost rushing , like we didn’t stay in the room 3 minutes , made us feel stupid saying that she couldn’t see my son before an ultrasound on our part we didn’t know that and we were still given an appointment ,overall staff seem tired of being there (rude)"
"My son was send to this hospital , they really take care of him , The nurses are really good people 10+ friendly , trying to explain me everything that was passing with my baby ."
