"I like that you order at the front, and then find a seat. Works well for this kind of diner setting. I got the loaded hashbrowns and they were very tasty. This place has some good vibes and interesting food offerings. If you're in lowertown and looking for some brunch type diner vibes, this place is for you. I'll be coming back"
"Very cute breakfast, brunch, & lunch locale with amazing Banana Foster French Toast. It’s a large portion of buttery sweetness so plan to share. Order at the counter and pick a table by the window. We also had a plate of eggs & hashbrowns (which were a bit bland), cappuccino, & matcha which were all good, but paled to the French toast. Bakery items are also sold here."
"The Buttered Tin is a blend of restaurant and bakery. The food is well-prepared, unique, and delicious! But the ordering process is uncomfortable on the busy weekends because you have to stand in line (upwards of 20 minutes) to place an order."
"A good quality, little breakfast place with some deli/grocery items available. The take home stuff is very good, while the normal menu is much more normal. We like that the menu clearly states they are a non tipping restaurant and that 20% is added to the bill already to pay appropriate wages. Unfortunately it doesn't appear to go directly to the staff. It is unfortunate that applies to take out and self serve as well though, and it would be better if the 20% was part of the prices listed. We do the same thing with taxes being added after so it's not too surprising. The main food was pretty good, nothing too special. We had the huevos rancheros breakfast and the pig's eye breakfast. The rancheros was good but next time I'd try the biscuits and gravy or pancakes instead of the pig's eye. The ham tasted really good but was a bit hard to cut apart. Some of the hash browns were burnt, and a few blueberries had gone bad but still made it on the plate. The butter with the pancakes really adds a nice touch though, and they have excellent gravy. Get there early if you want some of their drinks or bread loaves to go. Cinnamon rolls looked great as well, things were pretty picked over and out by 1pm. Unfortunately it is pricey by the end of things, it is pretty easy to rack up a bill over $40 without even hitting the take home stuff but it's a nice breakfast treat. As it was we ended up around $66 after the 20%. You can keep things pretty reasonable if you just grab a loaf/slice of bread or cinnamon roll on your way past though. While not often, we do plan to visit again. Most likely for some take out options."
"We’ve been here multiple times but for some reason I’ve never done a review. Hit them up after our walk at the farmers market today. Had their fruit pie of the day - blueberry. OMG this was so good. Pie crust was so thin and flaky, the pie itself still was a little warm. Not overly sweet, was so good. For food I had the biscuits and gravy with the poached eggs. This was good, but the gravy was unfortunately not my favorite. There is onion and celery in the gravy which gives it a little odd flavor to me. Hubs had the burrito - said it was really good - only issue was that all the meat and beans were on one side and the eggs and rice were on the other. Brought home a couple of their day old cookies - these were so good!!!"
