"The owner of Sf Rent, Kevin Kumana is an imbecile. He's a slumlord and has no business owning properties. He doesn't believe in the word community because he thinks tenants that actually have each other's backs and want a better and safer living space is something of a vendetta to him. I just moved from one of his horrendous buildings and emailed him about my security deposit, which was only half that I got back. Part of what he took out was $240 for paint! I left my apartment better than what I got when I first moved in. In my opinion, he's a thief, and I definitely recommend you DO NOT rent from one of his properties. The only nice person that works for sf rent is Lori. She has always been very helpful and kind when I spoke with her. Over the years of living at the 380 Euclid Ave building, I've put in work orders that didn't get fulfilled and when it did, it was horrible work except for a few maintenance men that actually knew what they were doing and who I think doesn't get paid enough to put up with Mr. Kumana's attitude. The building was infested and probably still is with roaches, and there was trash that was never cleaned up right outside of tenant's doors. I've had a cough while living there because of mold, and since I've moved, it's gone away. He doesn't care about people, just getting a dollar any chance he gets. He wants to turn garages into more apartments, yet the structure of that building looks like it's about to fall to the ground. Trust me, I know, I've unfortunately lived there for years and seen the downfall of it. Absolutely disgusting to watch. Thank goodness I've moved from that place and into a beautiful building where the company actually takes care of their tenants. I just feel bad for my former neighbors/friends who are still dwelling at 380 Euclid Ave and pray that they get out of there and into a safer and livable home. Kevin Kumana, the slumlord should be ashamed of himself"

"While the apartments are generally "affordable" for the Bay Area the quality is below sub par. Lived in an apartment in Oakland for two years and constantly had problems with pests and water. Management would be quite unresponsive and at times it felt that unless I pointed to legal action they would take their time fixing issues. I will say I felt the community at my complex was quite strong which is nice. TLDR The pricing of most complexes are nice but the quality of said complexes are not great and management needs to be more responsive."

"The new (to me) plumber on the SFRent maintenance, Jack, impressed me immensely with his cheerful and efficient diligence and professionalism. My bathroom and kitchen sink had two very clogged and rusted pipes (approx. 20+ years old) and he did a perfect job cleaning and replacing them. He willingly answered my questions about what might have caused the problem and what I could do regarding further maintenance and upkeep. Also, I greatly appreciated that he took the time to really clean up after he finished. Jack obviously takes great pride in his work, and his entire approach and demeanor makes me feel that the quality of his work is top-notch."
