"This is the 5th year here at Sunset Gardens. Im starting to have bugs in my house. They have sprayed 3 times whixh is NOT helping and i believe its becoming infested with bugs. I dont recommend staying here. Looking to move as soon as my lease is up."
"I came in moved in and I asked for a copy of the agreement that I sign and I was told I had to get it off the internet but I signed it in her face and she couldn't give me a copy at the time and also I've been paying rent now being charged extra rent but I've been asking for receipts but she doesn't want to write receipts and that's wrong so I don't understand how you guys are giving this place five stars and she's doing this and charging me SD G&E on the side so where's my rent going that part. She is very unreasonable to me and very difficult to communicate with. My name is John Avila I'm a resident here and I've been here for about a year it has been difficult all the time A friend of mine is helping me with his phone and help me get this out to everybody to see"
"I live at these apartments and have been for the past three years. Christina Cost is the apartment manager here and she is absolutely amazing! Honestly if it wasn’t for her I would’ve move out these apartments a long time ago but she Makes living here very enjoyable she is very friendly and nice and helpful and has made these apartments really nice to live in. As long as Christina stays the apartment manager here I will continue to live here."
"I moved to Sunset Gardens in early November 2017. When I moved the new owners of the property, CVG had closed escrow only a few months prior. It was quite obvious during my first visit that the previous ownership and management had ignored the entire property. But at its foundation, it's actually very solid, and reasonably well built, it just had a lot of obvious deferred maintenance as it had been seriously neglected. From the first time I saw the property in the very beginning of October until I returned three weeks later when I was invited to see the property again and hear about the plans that were either close to or had been finalized, what I saw was quite different. When I returned, the progress that I'll detail momentarily caused me to decide I was going to move here. I signed my lease in late October, and moved in the first week of November. The amount of work that I saw the ownership accomplish was actually quite impressive. They had already painted one of the buildings in several different possible color combinations, as they decided what would look best on the exterior. For the first six weeks after I moved in until mid December the number of contractors on the property during the week preparing estimates for CVG was quite impressive. They got estimates from many roofing contractors, landscape contractors and a whole assortment of other building trades. The work has continued in the close to nine months I've been here, and does so to this day. The pool is always crystal clean, the wonderful noises of happy children playing outside and in the pool on evenings and weekends is actually quite pleasant if you happen to be a father and a grandfather, and love the sound of happy squealing children as I do. The laundry room is always clean and tidy, there's always a highly competent and accommodating maintenance man on the premises 24/7. They just put in beautiful new barbecues and tables in an exterior common area that they created out of what was a derelict fountain. Basically, significant work is still being done on a regular basis. The landscaping is coming along nicely and the property is becoming more secure as time goes along. I was fortunate to have signed my first lease at the property before it really started to be reconditioned. My rent is very reasonable. As they go along the rents on these units are going to continue to rise as it turns into an exceedingly nice place to live. Besides the maintenance person, the community manager, or property manager is how I normally how I associate her position is a woman named Christina, who besides being really good at her job and easy to work with, also happens to be very reasonable and pleasant human being. Unlike some of my past experiences at really nice properties, I don't get an awful feeling in the pit of my stomach when I need to drop by the office, or call or write her an email. She's always been quickly responsive and reasonable to work with. For me, the only downsides are that rents are obviously going to go up as the property becomes more desirable for residents, a gate on the north side, in the middle of the property was welded shut a few months ago for safety and security reasons, I absolutely understand the reasoning but it does make it tougher on an older person, and as my body is structurally damaged and being older myself, it makes it a longer walk because you can only enter or exit the property from the east or west, but I realize it's a small price to play for having a more secure residential community. The other issue mostly for me being slightly disabled, is that the dumpsters are just about as far away from me as they can be and still actually be on the property. Overall it is a great place to live. Sent from my iPhone"
