"This was my first apartment where I didn't have any roommates, anyone on the lease, or had the lease transferred to me. Pros: Overall, it was a great first apartment. I found it to be spacious and liked that the garage was included in the lease. (Other apartments in the area charge an additional fee or only select units have a garage.) I managed to furnish it with a large dining table and 6 chairs, two sofas, and a shelf in the bathroom. The bedroom comfortably fit a queen with a dresser, small end tables, and a TV console. I toured a unit on a weekend, liked it, applied, and received my approval before the end of the week. I lived there for about 2 years (2017-2019). The managing office staff changed a bit during that time. There were no issues during my time there, but I did not interact with the office staff too often. There is a guard shack. To enter the community (homes and apartment), you are expected to have a pass or the gate guard may stop you. (I say "may" because my pass fell from my rear view window at some point, but I was still waved through until a new guard stopped me and refused to let me through until I could find it and show him or give him proof that I lived there.) Still, it's not as restrictive as the other gates communities I'm aware of in Eastlake. Also, I loved the lake and park across the street. There is a community pool near the park as well; a key FOB for will be given to you for access. (If I remember correctly, the pool was heated.) Depending on your needs and if you want to be in the area, I think it's a decent choice for your money. Lately, it seems that they are offering less square footage for more money in this area for both apartments and homes. Cons: I requested an early move-out. Honestly, that process could have been easier. I provided my 30-day notice per my contract, paid the early move-out fee (one full month's rent), and scheduled the unit inspection visit with the leasing office. I don't wear shoes in my home. During the move-out unit inspection, the leasing office agent commented that my carpet appeared brand new. Even so, after I moved out, they charged me a fee to have the carpets cleaned because my unit was "already scheduled to be cleaned". (The fee was separate from the cleaning fee.) I'm not sure why I would be charged but I was. I also received a bill a few months after I moved out for the utilities. My understanding was that the utility bill (water/trash) was always two months behind. They told me it was actually 3 months. Somehow, I was responsible 3 months even though I should have already paid for those months when I paid my rent and the early move-out fee (a total of two months rent plus utilities). After a point, it felt like they just kept sending me bills for more things I had to pay when everything should have been invoiced when I first gave my 30-days. After my departure, I only expected the cleaning fee to be taken from my deposit. ( It's a guarantee that that tenants are charged a cleaning fee upon move out no matter how well you clean beforehand.) They weren't asking for a lot of money. So, in the end, it wasn't a big deal, just a little annoying. Also, the appliances were outdated but I believe they were in the process of updating units. My dryer stopped working about two weeks after I gave my 30-day notice. I moved to a (at the time) brand new apartment community with brand new appliances. However, it is half the size of my apartment at Terra Vista for slightly more. (I moved in during the pandemic only to find that the photos were misleading. That is for a different post.)"
"I enjoy the workers who are professional and friendly! The grounds are always clean and people clean up for their dogs! Have found this apartment complex comfortable and safe!"
"I had a bad experience renting in this apartment. Yes. The place is nice and it is next to school but that's all. Everything is disaster. I am in military and before i left to deploy, our schedule changed to earlier time and the command gave us a letter for that. Guess what? They don't care and they still charged me. Next, there services was so slow.something breaks, it will take a while. Moving out was horrible. Inspection they scheduled never happened. And they just came one day to do it and they said everything was fine but they charged me everything more than my deposit. Ok, i paid for that one because i don't want to argue. After few months of deployment, my wife received a notice about my remaining balance. There were late fees. I emailed them them, manager, assistant manager, supervisor but nothing happened. They said they couldn't do anything because it was already with collector. This is just the summary. I will NOT never ever recommend this apartment."
"Decent place, poor customer service. I was using my friend’s car and it was towed an hour after we parked. There were no visitor parking spots open so we parked it in a leasing office space which was marked no parking 9am-6pm. She parked there around 8:30pm and her car was towed soon after. Well the tow company ended up charging $370 and the leasing office was not helpful at all. In fact, they weren’t even open during their posted business hours. The parking management company Terra Vista uses gave us the run around from 9am until 2pm that day only to tell us they couldn’t/didn’t want to help. After wasting our whole day, the tow company they use wasn’t available to get her car out for her for almost 2 hours from the time we called to try and pick up the car. Please chose better companies with which to associate Terra Vista."
