"Best customer service I've ever seen at Axiom La Jolla! As a student wanting to live off-campus, the apartment-applying process can be very confusing and intimidating, but once we contacted Axiom, our guy Victor Lopez was nothing short of amazing and reassuring during our entire process! I must've asked him a million questions and he answered them thoroughly and with a genuine kindness that I feel is so rare in the customer service industry. He is an absolute gem. THANK YOU VICTOR!"
"Hello! Axiom La Jolla is a great place!!! The maintenance crew is quick and friendly, and the leasing office is full of reliable and helpful individuals, Victor is example of someone who goes above and beyond to help residents. The complex itself is always clean. Overall, I recommend Axiom to anyone looking for a wonderful apt to call home."
"I'm a resident of Axiom La Jolla. There was a water leak found in my bedroom at March 2nd. The leak quickly became serious and almost covered the entire bedroom. As a result, I reported the incident to the leasing office on March 4th and moved all of my belongings out of the bedroom , starting to live in the living room. The leak took the entire two weeks to fix, during which time the mold and noise from the fans that were left on all night made living in the living room particularly burdensome. I was unable to use my bedroom during this time, which seriously affected my sleep. When I went to the leasing office to ask for a rental reduction, I was told that "the unit is designed to not only live in the bedroom, you can live in the living room." I sent an email to the office later, but there is no response at all, not even a call. This is not acceptable."
"If only zero stars were possible... The worst leasing office we have ever dealt with. Staff is unresponsive and truly incompetent. They do not answer the phone, takes 1-2 weeks to receive an email response, if they ever do answer. Maintenance requests for when we had ants within our entire unit went unanswered and unfulfilled for weeks- we eventually gave up and moved out shortly after. While the office staff have the classic San Diego laid back attitude don't be deceived, they will screw you over when you move out and charge you for ridiculous items when you moved into an imperfect unit to start. Lived in our unit 3 of our 6 month lease and were charged left and right at move out in addition to loosing my security deposit. Have lived in a bunch of apartments including several in NYC and have never had an issue like this. Tenants below us were a nightmare, screaming children every day at all hours- didn't complain because whats the point, the office wouldn't answer or do anything about it either way! They push the amenities during the tour like the pools and gym... well the pools are unclean, the jacuzzi is ice cold and jets dont work, and the gym equipment is subpar, treadmills barely work. Parking spots which no one has control over barely fit a normal sized SUV, forget it if you have a truck. Don't even bother with this property, it's 100% not worth the time or hassle."
"An honest review (not here to complain): Cons: I'm surprised no one mentioned the seagull problem in these reviews. Talk about a whole lot of noise. They live on the roof and show up each spring/summer. Seems like they are aggressive and dominant over their space up there. It can get quite annoying but you do get used to it. Also, it seems like someone is leaf-blowing outside our apartment every morning. I work from home so it kinda sucks sometimes. I get that the complex wants to keep pathways clean of debris but i suggest buying a broom. We also experienced mold problems which ended with me having a bad cough... it sucks.. Lastly, walls are paper thin. I can hear my upstairs neighbors and they can hear us. It makes it hard to enjoy peace and quiet, but I guess that is hard to ask for when living in apartments. Pros: Other than that, the amenities are nice - the gym, the pools, the wifi lounge. Location is great. Maintenance is helpful. I've found that the staff does answer calls right away (I don't understand the comments saying they take forever to respond). The staff invites food trucks to come by every now and then (which is cool and welcoming because we get to meet our neighbors), I just wish they would send us a more advanced notice whenever they do something like that. I've gotten emails minutes before an event before which doesn't make sense to me. Overall, there's going to be pros and cons anywhere you live. Pick your battles. If you want things to be perfect, stop. Life ain't perfect no matter how much you're paying in rent."
