"Great location and staff, but it seems the company cares more about a new clubhouse than the gym that residents use. Old equipment in need of repair for months with no action taken after repeated requests. Hope the rent doesn’t increase to finance the clubhouse."
"This review is specifically for Ricky in maintenance. He came to our apartment in a very timely manner, fixed our microwave, which was causing some issues with our breaker panel. He was very kind, efficient, and just a hard worker in general. Please give Ricky the recognition he deserves! Seriously such an awesome guy"
"I’ve lived here for 2 years. Sometimes communication from management could be better but it’s not that bad. It’s a much nicer apartment complex than the other apartments in the area. It has AC, in unit washer dryers, and a dog park for dogs. The maintainence people are very timely about any issues and go above and beyond. One time I asked if they could change my air filter (a 5 minute job) and when he came I mentioned my dryer was taking a long time. This maintenance man spent over an hour taking my dryer apart and cleaning out the lint without me even submitting a request online. They are seriously so wonderful and helpful and have made it a great experience to live here."
"I move in next Friday and at the moment me and my spouse are both in love with this place. Noticed there’s tons of renovations going on and our apartment is newly renovated as well. It was an ease getting in contact with both Vanessa and Sandra whenever I needed to bother them! Love it so far and haven’t moved in!"
"Our stay, here at Sofi, hasn’t been the most pleasant. Mainly, these past couple months have been disappointing. When we moved in, in October 2022, things started off a little rough. We were told our unit would be upgraded. It was not. When we moved in, the unit was barely cleaned. It was pretty dirty and a lot of previous wear and tear was noticeable. A lot of the light switches and outlet covers were cracked. It looked like all they did was do a fresh paint job and glaze the bath tubs. The dryer was full of cat hair and lint. We didn’t see any mold when we moved in, but just recently, we noticed black mold growing. The time frame for the mold growth, was a couple weeks. We tried to file a claim with renters insurance, but they don’t cover black mold. So, our roommate had to pay for a hotel, out of pocket. He didn’t have anywhere to go, due to this last minute mandatory vacate. Sofi didn’t take responsibility for putting him up. His only option was to commute 50 miles, one way, to stay with his parents. He still had to work, so he racked up quite the gas bill, driving to and from work, 5 days a week. He won’t be reimbursed for his hotel stay and gas. I’m very disappointed with the communication here. During the remediation, we only received an update once and that was on day 9. We had no idea what was being done, inside our unit. We had to call and ask for updates on when we could return home. Most of the time, we couldn’t reach anyone in the front office. The company Sofi provided to do the remediation, was Steampro. Steampro left a few bags of our personal belongings outside our front door and out on our patio. There was no explanation to wether we could salvage those items or if they had to be trashed. Those items sat outside the entirety of the 11 day vacate. We ended up losing those items due to moisture build up, because they were left outside 24/7. We won’t be reimbursed for those damaged items. Most of it was priceless framed art. We were told that the black mold was our fault because we didn’t properly ventilate our apartment. We shouldn’t have to constantly leave windows and doors open. We are on the bottom floor. We have no privacy with everything open. Sofi isn’t taking any responsibility for the black mold. We walked the perimeter of the unit and noticed that the outside siding is lifting, cracking, and disintegrating in certain areas. The spots that are damaged outside, mirror the interior spots that had moisture and black mold. To me, that is an immaculate indicator that the moisture was coming from the outside. The storm drain is broken. It’s disconnected at the top and is literally hanging on by a thread. I had a neighbor share that the tenants before us, also dealt with mold, multiple times. If this was an ongoing issue in the past, why wasn’t it fixed properly to prevent it from happening again? Also, why were we moved in, when clearly this isn’t a safe environment to live in? Black mold is serious. It’s our health that’s at risk. We have a new born and an 8 year old that live in the unit, as well. I strongly believe this could have been prevented if the proper repairs were made and shortcuts weren’t taken. We weren’t taken care of, this entire process. It’s been a total nightmare and we know we aren’t the only tenants with mold. We’ve seen Steampro multiple times, in different areas of the complex. These apartments are on the older side and are clearly showing their age. On top of black mold, there is water/termite damage as well. We were told someone would be by first thing 8/28 to repair the area. We made accommodations to be here to let them inside the unit. Nobody came. If units aren’t up to code, for safety reasons, why are they still moving families in? For what we pay a month, this apartment should feel like a luxury home, just like they advertise."
