Reviews of Presidio at Rancho Del Oro Apartments
"Been here a little over 2 years. The staff has been great. I am not fond of the parking charge but it is what it is. The grounds are generally clean. Not noisy. A lot of military, which means most of the people are well mannered. Overall, very nice place to call my home away from home."
"After recent events, I’d be remiss if I didn’t leave an honest review of how my wife and I have been treated by the 24 hour maintenance department and management here (for this situation). The bottom line is my wife stepped outside at 9pm to let our dog use the restroom, she is 26 weeks pregnant with twins and had our 15 month old baby girl with her. She didn’t bring her keys, wallet or phone as she was just letting our dog quickly pee before bed. When she tried to get back into the apartment, the doorknob had broken and she couldn’t get into the apartment. Her (in a nightgown), and my 15 month old daughter who is currently sick were locked out of our residence for over two hours (9pm-11pm) Two phone calls were made to the 24 hour maintenance department where an individual (named to management) was beyond un-empathetic or helpful, was quite the opposite of helpful. I was at work 2 hours away and had to drive back after I had called maintenance (2nd phone call to maintenance) and learned that they were not even going to make a phone call to anyone to assist. The response I got was we needed to contact a locksmith because they don’t handle lockouts after hours, I explicitly stated the doorknob was broken not the deadbolt (doorknob doesn’t even lock so it wouldn’t be possible for the doorknob to have been locked) pointing out that this isn’t a lockout issue but a door malfunction issue that has my wife who’s in a nightgown and pregnant and my 15 month old locked out of our residence. Moral of the story is the apartment complex was absolutely no help to us at all. I then sent an email to the management to which my wife was told they would cover the locksmith fee. I walked down to talk to management and expressed that I do not think that is enough to help make this situation right and was told they would see what they could do to help compensate our troubles. Later that day I was called and told we would receive a 200 dollar credit towards our next month’s rent and the locksmith receipt wouldn’t be necessary (I did tell the manager that I wasn’t worried about the locksmith fee being reimbursed if that’s all they were going to do because I felt that wasn’t enough and they could do more). I did tell the manager that is fine, because I’m not going to sit and argue or try to negotiate their thoughts on what they think is “right” for this situation. But they think 200 is comparable to my families troubles we faced due to their 24 hour maintenance inability to do their job or even attempt to help us. The “more” they did was give us a 200 dollar credit to our rent. A note, the original locksmith fee was going to be $389 dollars but I talked the locksmith down to $100 and he obliged because he seen the situation we were in (total cost was $115). The manager explicitly told me that the maintenance department handled that situation wrongly and my pregnant wife of 26 weeks with twins and 15 month old baby girl who’s sick are the ones who had to pay for the grossly way this was handled. And when attempting to speak to management about this issue, they thought 200 dollars sufficed for the troubles of me having to leave my job in the military and drive over 2 hours home and THE REAL ISSUE, my pregnant wife and daughter being stuck outside our residence for over 2 hours. I can’t say I would recommend this place (my opinion) if you’re looking for an apartment that will take care of you as a tenant if you were to have to go through a situation that is out of your control and would need to rely on them. I contemplated leaving a review or further discussing this with management but after being treated the way we have and hearing what they believe our compensation is worth I don’t feel comfortable or as if we as tenants are cared for at all from management at this establishment. I’m not sure how to attach the screen shots of the email I sent to management or the screen shot (with names and address blacked out) of the work order that was put it."
"My daughter and grandkids live here and the grounds are great and apartments and management seem fair enough. However they recently changed the parking situation and the tenants are forced to pay for a parking spot under a carport, otherwise they are left to their own devices to find a spot. Seems unlawful that they can just change the rules one day and add another unnecessary expense to residents who are already struggling to pay the high rent. How does an apartment not come with at least one dedicated parking spot? Shame on the owners. And beware of the shady towing company prowling the parking lot, they have two guys walking around and ducking out of sight who then signal the tow truck parked across the street, predatory towing, another shame on the complex owners. Try doing what's right by these hardworking people rather than taking advantage of them."
"Apartments look pretty but it’s mostly cheap cosmetic work so they can charge more. Paint peeled up in all the cabinets and would stain our items, oil separated from the bathroom paint when the shower was turned on, spiders/insects were everywhere, and overall the space just felt old. Also was told to pay for parking halfway through the lease and if we didn’t want to and there wasn’t enough parking we could park on the streets. Also had a friend live here who had a homeless person break into their apartment before they moved in. Management basically told them they didn’t have any responsibility and it wasn’t housings problem. So my friend had to clean up someone else’s cigarette butts and piss bottle in order to move in. Classy."
"We've been here since June 1st and not only is the apartment amazing, but the management and maintenance staff are GREAT. Super fast to respond and get things done. I love it! They answered all of my questions prior to moving in as well as my countless questions after and I very much appreciate the communication. I know that's a big issue at almost every other apartment complex. Grounds a nice looking as well!"
