Reviews of Villa Del Sol Apartments
"Am visiting Temecula after being gone for 5 years and was reminded that this place is the worst place I’ve ever lived! Christine MacDuff is the worst property manager, terrible about communication and never around when she tells you she will be. She completely just didn’t show up to our walk through appointment, we walked the keys over to the unit she lives in within the complex and she was in her pajamas (never intended to show) and then charged us for things after (legally she has to do the walk through and inform you of anything that she may charge for so you have a chance to fix it yourself). Threatened eviction over very normal things and is on an absolute power trip constantly. Weird energy and somewhat of a lurker also. I’m so glad I only lived her for a year."
"Greatest"
"Horrific experience... Giving a 1 star to this place is already asking to much so considering I can't leave a review without at least giving one, it will have to do. It all started around September when me and a buddy (would be roommate) went to this place to inquire about open vacancies. After countless efforts in trying to contact the manager who seemed to be a ghost and/or mythological creature in terms of contact, we finally catch her in person at her office, several hours after the start of her shift. We go through the usual talk and we are told there was one apartment that was going to be open. The resident was being evicted and the apartment would soon be vacated. Everything seemed to go very well as we left with her telling us to come back on December 1st, as the eviction and renovations should be finished by that time. At this time there were about 30 people on the waiting list, her words. Her method when the room was ready was to call everyone on the waiting list and whoever responded and got there first would be the "victor" so to speak. Me and my buddy took this information and went about our way. For the next 2 months me and my buddy would periodically call her to check on the status, as we were only trying to upkeep on any possible apartment to move into. All received with her special home made voicemail. Come December 1st, (a Tuesday, no call) me and my buddy decide to go there in person. If you don't know already, her office hours are "supposed" to be Mon-Fri, 8:30am to 5:30pm. When we arrived at 10:30am, the manager was nowhere to be seen. Determined to know the status of the room, we stayed and hung out around the office hoping to catch her when she arrives. 2 hours later with no one to be seen, we figured she was on a very long lunch break so we decided to go get something to eat, and come back. After about another hour, we arrive back and we finally catch her going into her office. Here's the best part. We pull up, and before we can even get out of my car, she yells at us saying there are no rooms available. Having noticed she recognized us, I say that she told us to come back on this day. She responds with, "no that wasn't me..." Complete and utterly confused I said yea it was, and she responds with "there are no rooms available, and I have a meeting to go to right now." Note that all of this took place with 1 foot outside my door on the ground and halfway through the "getting out of your car motion". I ended up just shutting the door and driving away in pure frustration and confusion. Now it's hard to describe without actually seeing what happened, but she recognized who we were. She was also the same person who we talked to before. I remember it like it was 2 months ago, because it was 2 months ago. Unless she has a completely identical and overweight twin who has the same clothing, car, name, and hairstyle, I call bullshit. Also note that she was gone for a good 2 and a half hours, we left for an hour and came back to her leaving to another "meeting". So a total clock in time of about 1 hour IF she arrived RIGHT after we left. (possibly the first 2 hours of the day as well). Why is this important? There was no notification or "we'll be back" sign or anything whatsoever saying she would not be there. Sure this may be harsh, but really this place is great when it comes to the residents, apartments and everything, but was extremely lackluster in JUST getting to talk to the manager... tl;dr - Place is great, management sucks. Also on another note, there was this guy there who every time we would show up, would do anything and everything to try and convince us to leave. I have no idea if he is also management, or just a resident, but he would constantly walk by us and tell us the manager wont be back till a time, or that there are no spots open. This sounds normal right? Well he would stand there awkwardly when he said those things expecting us to leave after. It always ended with us not moving, and in a nice/aggressive tone saying "ok thx" or "she told us to be here so...""
