Reviews of Harbor Pointe Apartments
"I've lived here since 2016. I've been meaning to leave a review for Jose and Tony who take care of the maintenance here at Harbor Pointe. They are long overdue for acknowledgement. These two gentlemen really do treat the residents here like gold. * They are always friendly, approachable, and helpful around the community. * Maintenance requests and services are always acknowledged promptly, and taken care of in a timely manner. * Most importantly they are polite, respectful, and trustworthy when it comes to entering the units. They really do go above and beyond for the residents here. Thank You both for all of your help over the years."
"Pros: Nice clean pool area Nice location Nice roomy interior Office and maintenance staff is friendly and responsive Cons: -Tiny workout room that smells like must. Max capacity for 4 people to workout at the same time. If this is important to you, be sure to look at it first. We regret not paying closer attention as we won’t work out there. -Visitor parking is difficult and intrusive. You'll either need to place a physical phone call to the office and provide details on the person and car to request a visitor pass for your overnight guest every single time you need a pass (privacy or efficiency anyone?) or have your guest park on the very busy, packed, and poorly lit Golden Lantern so your visitors should be young and healthy to make the trek. Even though their policy if to give you one written warning prior to towing without a guest pass, our vehicle was towed within days of moving in without a warning. It was only after several complaints and finally pointing out that they violated their own policy, that we received an apology. -Units are old, outdated and poorly insulated so you'll get a lot of neighbor noise (we hear our neighbors flush their toilet, music playing, and moving kitchen chairs around as an example) and outside traffic noise, especially if you are on Golden Lantern. There is a fire dispatch just up the street so daily sirens blaring by. -Basic routine repairs were not done prior to move in. Within the first month of moving in, we had to make several requests and maintenance visits to fix: dead batteries in smoke detector (went off at 2AM and is unreachable so we had to have the fire department come), the second smoke detector went off days later at 6am. You know they need to be replaced every year, why weren't the batteries replaced before move in? Broken kitchen and bathroom drawers needed replacement, broken heating register making loud noise, dead water heater that made a horrendous pounding noise in the closet required 3 visits to finally have it replaced, etc. - “Landscaping” is very lackluster (see photos). Mostly patches of dirt, grass, mulch, and a weird ground ivy that covers and hides debris and dog poop so you and your pets need to watch where you walk. Mushrooms that are potentially toxic to dogs are all over the grounds. Since our pup was hospitalized within days of moving in due to possible toxic intake, we've asked many times to have them removed, but they still have not been. Ultimately - if you can weather all of the cons, it's a fairly nice place to live in Dana Point. If you can afford a bit more $$, go across the street to Seabrook where it is quiet, nice amenities, beautiful landscaping, etc. Lived there for a year and never had a single issue other than restricted visitor parking."
"My journey with Harbor Point began with cherished memories from living in a sister community managed by the same company in Aliso Viejo. This positive experience led me to Harbor Point when I decided to move to Dana Point. Right from the start, Matthew from the leasing office extended a warm welcome and played a crucial role in helping me select the perfect unit. His guidance and support were invaluable, making my decision to move here feel absolutely right. Recently, my positive impressions were further reinforced when Jose and Tony from the maintenance team visited my apartment. Their prompt and efficient service, coupled with their friendly demeanor, reminded me again why choosing Harbor Point was the best decision for me. I'm grateful to Matthew, Jose, and Tony for their exceptional service. It's a five-star experience that I enthusiastically recommend to anyone considering a move. Here at Harbor Point, every interaction makes you feel good about your decision"
"Harbor pointe Apartments are great. I searched many places before deciding on harbor pointe and this place has everything I could want. The office staff is very professional, knowledgeable and very handles all concerns immediately. The maintenance staff is courteous and addresses all requests quickly. If you are looking for a new place to call home, make sure you check out Harbor Pointe. You will not be disappointed."
"If you are looking for a community that feels like home, this is it. I spent the last 2.5 years here and loved every minute of it. The neighborhood is friendly and safe with lots of families and kiddos running around - one of the few places in Orange County where your neighbors smile and say hello. The maintenance team, Jose and Tony, are AWESOME and I consider them friends. Despite being part of a big corporation, the leasing office goes out of their way to communicate with you and help you out as best they can. Natalie and Sarah are both so awesome and helpful. 10/10 experience and I highly recommend living here whether you grew up in Orange County or newly moved here. Sad to leave the community but really grateful for every moment spent there."
