"It’s unfortunate that I’m starting to watch this place slowly go downhill, been here over a year. It used to be much more calm, now, we’re unfortunately dealing with car theft, smokers, and dirty people trashing the place. I’m convinced they’re just letting literally anyone live in here now. Noticed today that someone has fondled with my car door. Starting to feel unsafe, and unfortunately they went up on garage prices at this time where SEVERAL cars have been broken into. We pay too much money for this to be going on. Where is the “on-site” patrol to prevent this?!"
"these apartments are in a very convenient and mostly safe area for my family but as mentioned in previous reviews i’ve seen it get worse and worse, people yelling from the balconies and having house parties being super loud. been without a washer in our unit for almost a month now, poor communication with maintenance. i live on one of the top floors and have a child that requires a stroller. having the elevator not working every other day is not something i want to deal with. i have to manually carry my daughter and her stroller down 3 flights. no sort of notice from the complex. just overall not happy."
"I recently moved into The Groves apartment complex, and our experience has been really positive so far. We were provided with an assigned parking spot, which is convenient. Even though there have been instances of visitors parking in our spot, the complex offers towing services, giving us the option to have those vehicles removed. The provided app has proven to be a valuable tool, allowing us to voice any concerns or issues that arise. Living in close proximity with other residents can sometimes lead to different directions, but the management seems to handle policies and oversight well. Our representative, Jennifer, was wonderful to work with. The move-in process was swift, and we encountered no problems in getting settled on the agreed-upon date. While guest parking can be a bit limited, there is additional outside parking available. The community itself feels private, and there are multiple entrances throughout the complex. I've seen residents needing a nudge to clean up after their dogs. A message might come soon, reminding everyone to respect quiet hours after 10 pm and to ensure they clean up after their pets. The management is dedicated to keeping the community clean and considerate for all. I appreciate how the quiet hours are being enforced, thanks to the on-site manager. Understandably, with it being summer, people tend to be livelier, but I've noticed that all concerns are promptly addressed through the Morgan Group application since I've been here. Overall, I'm quite satisfied with my experience at The Groves."
"I used to think this community was nice, but have watched it get progressively worse. Little to no guest parking in the entire complex, confusing signage with clearly marked guest spots (that are actually assigned) create huge hassle for residents and guests that get towed for parking in the spots without any warning. Dumpster areas are frequently inaccessible from surplus of garbage left outside of the actual dumpsters. The pool/hot tub areas look nice when they are actually working, but have frequently been overrun with large groups on the weekends that blast music well into the night. Dogs are frequently left outside on people’s patios at night and bark so loud that the entire neighborhood can hear it. Charging top tier prices to live among low tier neighbors."
"The community is brand new, beautiful, and boasts luxury amenities, which is great except the amenities are almost always broken or inaccessible. Don’t get me wrong, the pool is great! But the jacuzzi has been broken since early December and we’ve never received an alert about it. We just had to find out the hard way. The 24/7 fitness center is also surprisingly well equipped for an apartment community gym. But unless you work out between 7am and 10pm, you can’t access it. So for a handful of community members that work out at 4am, it’s irrelevant. If all you need is a beautiful apartment in Whittier, this is an absolutely amazing option. But if you sign a lease for a luxury apartment and justify the cost because of the amenities, you’ll be disappointed. Update: I've been at Altura for a year. While the units themselves are absolutely stunning and the leasing and maintenance staff are friendly, that's all the nice things I have to say about the community. The dumpsters are frequently absolutely overrun with trash, poop bags, large items that get brought out and left outside the dumpsters, etc. There's just a huge lack of regard for cleanliness from the other residents. There's absolutely NO parking. And when I say there is no parking I mean if you signed a lease today, you would not have a parking spot unless you rent a garage. I'm fortunate that my parking spot is in close proximity to my apartment, but I understand that's not the case for most people. There's 10 visitor's spots for the entire community, despite there being signage in the back of the community indicating there are additional guest spots. There's no indication that these spots are actually reserved. So if you follow the signage, your car will probably get towed. There was also no notification to residents instructing us to not have visitors park there, despite being told otherwise. Maintenance can also take quite a bit of time to complete requests. I had my smoke alarm chirping overnight indicating it needed a new battery. I put in a request at 4 AM to have the battery replaced, and when I contacted the office to inquire whether or not it was done, they told me the battery had been replaced the day prior. So, do with that what you will. And I don't mean that to knock on the actual maintenance workers, they're very nice and very helpful, but the amount of follow up you have to do on your own to get things done is frustrating. I really loved living here when I first signed my lease. It was quiet, people were super respectful of common areas, and it felt safe. Now it's just crowded and a lot of the amenities I enjoyed using aren't useable because of it."
