Reviews of The Huntington Apartments
"I have a lot to say about this roach infested crackhouse. First off I'll mention roaches a plenty I've encountered 100s maybe 200 roaches including baby roaches which indicates an egg hatched so you'll get plenty of those, second my sink was overflowing with nasty water that smelled like pee and it leaked into my floor and caused the floors to stink and expand I emailed maintenance for emergency repairs they didn't do anything for 4 days and my floor was already filled with smelly water, the bathrooms were all out of service for over a month straight so I had to use the third floor restrooms and when I was using the bathrooms on the 2nd floor where I was it was full of heavy cigarette smoke and people left giant piles of poop inside the toilet and it smelled, the bathroom was very disgusting full of roaches also during the summer since there's no air-conditioning the apartment gets extremely hot so prepare for that, also if they offer you apartment 212 do not move in apartment 211 next door is a wannabe music artist who will never make it whose music he creates is trash and he will blast his music until 5 or 6am and it's loud hes inconsiderate and doesn't care about being respectful a lack of good parents I'm sure. Also the apartment never answers their phones. I needed rental verification to move into my new place and they never answered so my new apartment got me in based on my credit and proof of my ledger but it still needed a huge authorization. This place will keep you stuck here. Also someone got shot on the third floor and also someone came looking for whoever was staying in apt#211 by banging on his door so keep that in mind. Also the reviews saying I don't know why people are badly reviewing this place probably like living in garbage dumps and understand they'll never make it in life so my end point is if you like living in filth and not getting any sleep and also don't mind paying an extra 200$ for parking and walking to your parking garage 10 minutes away then by all means stay here but I would suggest renting a room instead and building good credit and moving up in a conpany based job. Good luck to you."
"Moving in from another of state soon. So far so good. Iliana sent me pictures of my choices in my price range, upon request. She’s been responsive."
"It's astonishing to see how many people give such harsh reviews. The room I rented for 7 years costs less than 700 a month. That includes a new fridge, microwave and all utilities except internet. I had no real view out my window, but for that price, I felt it was well worth it and is one of the best comfortable options in downtown for small living. The building is not perfect, so if you're someone who is sensitive or picky about an issue (like one of the bathrooms being closed for over a year), you might not like it. Otherwise, you'll likely find the good outweighing the bad. They do nice upgrades every now and then (like upgraded bathrooms in my first year and new flooring recently), and most of the things I've noticed get fixed when broken. So yes, they don't respond by phone that is still displayed for some reason. But they are good with email. I felt like management was fairly nice and usually gave notice of service issues (many service notes were put on my door). Also my package was always kept securely in the office. They have an easy online maintenance request form with prompt response most of the time and they always knocked for me. Yes, there were a couple requests they didn't respond to first time, but I had a fridge replaced, a light bulb replaced, my room sprayed for bugs, a drain unclogged, all for free and usually promptly. Yes, the people might not be the cleanest in the shared bathrooms but it definitely wasn't horrible. You have 6 to 7 private bathrooms per floor and they get cleaned daily. Considering how many bathrooms there are per floor, you're likely to find the first bathroom you come to unoccupied and looking just fine. And I actually recommend a shared bathroom as not having to keep it cleaned ourselves is a great perk. Yes, there are all kinds of people who live there. There is at least one with problems every now and then. I certainly don't expect kicking someone out to be an easy thing to do. But most of the people living there are great and you'll likely meet someone just like you. If you feel like 8th and main is in a "bad area" because there are some homeless people around, then I don't imagine you'll make it at the Huntington. But if you like city life without paying more than you should, it's worth it. Officially a 4 out of 5."
"This is the 4th time in my 3 months of living here that this building has had no hot water or water pressure with zero warning to tenants. Which is highly illegal, but they continue to do repairs the day off without giving any notice to the people living here. The people running this place are highly unprofessional and do not have the slightest bit of care for the tenants that pay their bills. Landlord Adrian drives a BMW meanwhile his tenants are all getting far less than what they pay for. Don’t move here, it’s not worth it. Look at all the other reviews."
"Definitely have to agree with the other reviewers on the rudeness. They don’t follow the proper rules of L-T law when it comes to sending people in the apartment pretty much any time they want, or shutting off appliances, both without notice. There are three daytime employees and one night time employee who are genuinely some of the most malicious people I’ve met. If you try to raise a concern, they talk over you and yell. They refuse to listen, and insist if they don’t want to believe someone’s complaint they don’t have to. In their minds they can never be wrong, and I assure these certainly aren’t the people who are qualified to be that arrogant. I truly wish these people somehow get a grasp on reality one day, for the sake of its tenants. Or just… new management."
