"Love my apartment. Management does their best to accommodate to your needs:)"
"The best thing about this apartment complex is the maintenance staff. They work so hard at keeping my apartment working. They are all kind and genuine. They have a sense of urgency and are dedicated to keeping this place nice. I wish I could give them 5 stars on their own. But I put 4 stars because of the way things are ran here otherwise. I would probably give it 3 stars as an over all result of my personal experience living here. This complex is on Signal Hill so there are continuous power outages that interfere with my daily life. When that happens the power is out for many hours and the water pressure and temperature decline in the duration. Also the fire alarm goes off for different reasons and it is excruciatingly loud and scary. The sound progresses anywhere from 20 mins to an hour depending on when the fire department gets here and is able to assess the situation and turn off the alarm. Since this complex is by the Long Beach traffic circle it is very noisy all the time here. The windows are pretty good sound proof but it is still so noisy with cars speeding with their loud exhaust pipes, car alarms going off, fire trucks, police cars, homeless people yelling down the street and there are car accidents all the time. It is all quite irritating to the human brain. It's traumatic to hear people smashing into each other weekly. Makes you really scared to drive through the circle. The mailboxes were being broken into a lot. So the company had residents picking up our mail at the post office for 4 months while they installed new ones. That was very inconveinent. There was no rent discount for this disservice. There are some people that let their pets urinate in inappropriate places and they litter trash on the grounds and spill things in the elevators and never pick up after themselves. The appliances are on the old side and don't fully work sometimes. The refrigerator is noisy. The electrical oven has hot spots and isn't consistent. All the microwave buttons don't work. And the stackable washer and dryer breaks down about once a year. The exhaust from the dryer just goes out into the apartment so you have to run the a/c and leave the windows open to air out the dust, steam and heat. It accumulates lint all over the apartment so you have to scrape the lint of the walls every now and then. They do raise the rent to the maximum every year so it is very expensive to live here unfortunately. After all that being said.... ... overall I'd say it's been nice to live here in my personal spot. I have a nice view of the mountains in the distance and my place has adequate sunlight coming in. Like I said, the best thing that keeps me ok with living here is that the maintenance team always comes to the rescue and they fix things fast and they are so nice."
"Nice amenities, but very overpriced. (Also, missing recycling?!) The maintenance staff is super helpful and nice. On the other side of things, the management has gone downhill in the last 6 months. This Friday they sent an email about a parking improvement project with 4 days notice (2 biz days!) where if you don’t move your car you could get towed. If I had gone out of town for a week trip on Friday, I would have been out of luck and out of a car. Negates any convenience of having off street parking to worry about this kind of treatment. ------- Edit/Update: Thank you for replying, but the fact that you don't seem to understand the main point of my last complaint is concerning. It doesn't matter if you email your residents 4 days in a row about a notice, if a family has left for a week-long trip to see relatives in Chicago, or a student has left for a 5-day conference in New York, they can't just magically teleport back home to move their car when they see the notice. The city gives a week's notice if they're doing something on a street, and that's when people are moving their car every week for street cleaning already."
"Pros- Marbrisa was such a beautiful apartment. The square footage was not generous, but the finishes, appliances and attention to detail made up for the unit price. Centrally located apartment and always kept clean. Management was extremely efficient and responsive. They sent out frequent emails to communicate any updates to their renters Cons- we got an email about car break ins, I believe this happened two days in a row. This made us be on alert. Something for management to think about, because the community is gated and generally looks safe -We dealt with major ants infestation. There were days when we were practically invaded by ants. We figured the ants were inside the wood and structure of the apartment, so any smell brought them out. We had an exterminator come out once and I can tell you that did nothing. I had to study them closely to see when they came out and to avoid those trigger items. Mind you, we are clean people, so it was not an issue of hygiene. I sense it has a lot to do with the wood choice of the apartment itself -weed smell from neighbors. This was very common and not a pleasant smell to wake up to -depending on your unit, the noise from PCH could be disturbing. So, avoid any units facing the street if you can. -the interiors of the apartment was painted yellow. This is not a good neutral color as it can throw off your furniture style. Perhaps management can reconsider this for something more neutral"
"My girlfriend and I have lived here for a year and a half and have no complaints. The double balconies in our apartment as well as the appliances (in unit washer and dryer is great) are all a major plus. The management team at Marbrisa is amazing. They are all very friendly and always make a point to get to know the tenants and ask how everything is going. Jessie (Jesus), the maintenance manager is especially amazing. He always offers his assistance and anytime we’ve needed help with anything he’s always there right away to handle it with a smile (even on his days off). Ana and Kathleen in the leasing office are super friendly, personable and helpful. Overall, the staff / management here may be Marbrisa’s best asset. Would definitely recommend to anyone considering moving here."
