Reviews of The Westerly on Lincoln
"Been here a week and my wifi (which is provided in my furnished apartment) stopped working completely and hasn’t been fixed. The customer service line was very nice and tried their best to do everything in their power so it’s not their fault at all, but whoever is in charge should’ve fixed this as I’m here on business and now I can’t work from home or anything. It’s also a very noisy complex. If you’re in your early 20s I’m sure it’s great but it’s not ideal for working professionals at all. People are just being loud all the time, whether it’s families coming through or just young people partying. It’s almost 10pm on a Sunday and people are still partying by the pool - shutting your doors and windows doesn’t block out the noise at all. If you’re just staying here on vacation for a fun time then I’m sure it’s fine and not a big deal, but if you actually have a job and are a professional it’s a bad fit. Also the indoor heating/cooling is quite noisy too. On the plus side I’ll say that it’s a great location and I think the gym is really good as far as apartment gyms go."
"I have lived here for a few years and have been EXTREMELY frustrated and disappointed lately by The Westerly on Lincoln and their property management company, UDR. The building, their ability to maintain it, and their customer service has deteriorated terribly over recent months. In early December the lights in my kitchen went out. Over the next FIVE weeks I submitted FIVE maintenance requests to have it fixed. In January they finally responded and fixed it, but only when I threatened to not pay rent. My dryer has been broken for the last month, it was finally fixed after 4 weeks and multiple maintenance requests. Today my washing machine broke and leaked water all over the kitchen and laundry room floors, and the water has ruined some of the furniture and other belongings in the area. I informed them 2 weeks ago that the machine was leaking and asked them to fix it, they didn’t respond to the request and never made repairs. The problem/leak has gotten worse due to their negligence, and now I will have to pay out of pocket to replace the damaged furniture and personal belongings, and to have the apartment cleared out and professionally cleaned (they’ll pay for the water removal service only). This could have been avoided if they were responsive or had fixed it when asked. Next: 2 days ago my kitchen sink broke and the faucet fell off, spraying water literally everywhere. I had to duct tape it together until they came to repair it, but it’s still not put together right or working properly. I pay over $4k/month to live in a building that’s become an absolute nightmare to deal with and it’s borderline untenable at times. I would discourage potential tenants from moving in here at this time. If you do move in to the Westerly, get a handyman and pack your patience… get a mop because everything leaks and you will be the one cleaning it. Take screenshots of/keep records of all your maintenance requests and the response time. And talk to your neighbors, too, my complaints are not unique. My neighbors have told me even worse stories about their experiences. I used to love living here, but I can’t take it much longer and I think about moving out on a daily basis, and likely will. It’s beyond frustrating and I hope something changes soon. So disappointed. P.S. The other comments from other reviewers are also true: the broken elevators, sub-par security and theft, dog pee on the floors in the hall and common areas, broken security gates, CONSTANT fire alarms going off, etc."
"This apartment building has been an incredibly challenging place to live. The fire alarm seems to go off weekly at late hours without any apparent reason, causing frequent disruptions. Additionally, the grounds consistently smell like pee, making it quite unpleasant to be outside. The jacuzzi is often foaming due to inadequate maintenance. Package theft is a recurring issue here, and instead of promptly addressing it by reviewing security footage, residents are required to file police reports, which is an inconvenience and the police do not care so nothing every gets resolved. Furthermore, the installation of EV chargers, a project that was supposed to be completed four months ago, is still ongoing after five months without any logical explanation for the delay. Overall, the management of this building is atrocious. It's clear that they do not care about tenants on any level. Save yourself the pain and frustration and find somewhere else to live."
"If you hate working facilities, you love a broken elevator, and you treasure the experience of an elevator ride standing in dog urine, this is the perfect place for you! Every day you get to start your day with a fun game we call “will the elevator work today?” And the garage was so secure when I was here: when the door broke they put a sturdy metal fence in front of it instead of fixing it like any normal, boring complex would. For 6 wonderful months we had this trusty fence. Need to talk to the management? Just text them and wait for 30 minutes outside of their office door and they just might give you 10 seconds of their time! How generous! If this sounds like fun, or you’ve ever wanted to spend 3k a month to sleep at a La Quinta, join us at the Westerly!"
"Moving here was a mistake. I was bamboozled into believing these were luxury apartments. I lived in building C where the elevator was constantly broken. Management should be ashamed of themselves for wrong done to the elderly tenants here - they were trapped on the floor for about a week without an elevator and not physically well enough to go down the stairs. Everyone had been trapped in the elevator at some point and had to be rescued by the fire department. Homeless people wandered onto the property and “security” was never there to intervene. The place reeked of marijuana. My packages were stolen, cannot ship things here. This is not a safe place for a child to live, please do not move here with a kid. There is a registered sex offender living in building B, verified by Meghan’s law. Water was out frequently. This place made my life harder all the way to the day I moved out. The ONE redeeming quality was the location - very walkable and the marina is of course beautiful."
