Reviews of The Promenade at Marina City Club Apartments
"Worked with Shukura Smith and she is so nice and responsive! One of the best reps from the promenade. Amador, the head maintenance POC is also amazing!!!"
"SECTION-8 APARTMENT .... WITH A VIEW!! I lived in Promenade/Marina City Club for three years, and it was the worst rental situation. Below is a short list: (1) 10% rent increases every year. Hundreds of dollars each year on top of rents that are already too high. 2) Daniel Nolan in the leasing office is uncaring, unprofessional, and intentionally mean and condescending. He is gone half of the time with signs on the door indicating he'll be back, and it takes hours to reach them. 2) Promenade is a very old building (with mold) that needs constant daily repairs. You will hear daily jackhammers, saws, bobcats, cement trucks, and plumes of dust more than 2/3 of the time including on weekends. Every week, they'll let you know a day in advance that there will be construction lasting 2 weeks. Sometimes the construction is inside your unit, and they give no reimbursement for hotels. 3) Its very noisy at night. The docks outside of Marina City Club have a construction defect and make very loud creaking noises. We would awakened up every 1-2 hours. If you are almost deaf and can take out your hearing aid, you won't be able to sleep. 4) The balconies don't drain and rainwater often floods the apartments. When it rains, you will have gallons of water rushing into your living room and bedroom each time it rains (your job to clean it with no help from management.) This cleanup takes hours. We had to put out sandbags each time it rained. 5) Air conditioners do not circulate air and there are no ducts behind the walls. If you run your air conditioner constantly and pay $500 each month in electricity, it will never get cooler than 78° with humid air quality. 6) Annual rent increases of of $500-$1000 per year--exceeding most surrounding apartments. 7) My neighbor had 4 bikes stolen in less than a year. About $10,000 of stolen property. Maybe Daniel Nolan knows what happened to the bikes since he is gone all day. 8) Mold is in most units. One of my neighbors tested and found toxic levels of mold. The MCC homeowners association filed a lawsuit against the Marina City Club for mold in his own condo. One neighbor did mold testing that showed toxic levels of mold. They never remediate the mold. 9) If you try to discuss any concerns with Daniel Nolan, he will say to all the residents "You are free to move." Thats his answer for everything. They treat tenants so badly that neighbors walk dogs and meet around the mailboxes to discuss how horrible the treatment is. The conversation is always about nightmare interactions with the leasing staff, and loud construction that lasts for weeks. Promenade and Essex management are worse than a Section-8, and the list of issues is simply not worth a good view."
"I cannot express my appreciation for Dawn enough. She has undoubtedly been the most exceptional individual I’ve encountered at this property. Her consistent willingness to promptly address my issue and concerns in a timely manner have made my stay incredibly smooth. Dawn’s genuine concern for her residents is evident in her constant availability and support. Thank you in advance."
"While sailing my boat around the world for 7 years I stayed in a lot of marinas so I feel like I have a pretty good idea of what constitutes a good marina. I have lived on my sailboat at The Marina at Marina City Club for over two years and can confidently state that it is one of the most well run marinas I have ever used. Alicia, the manager, and her team, Marciano and Juan, do an excellent job of maintaining the marina and associated facilities. The docks and gates are well maintained. A worker from the company that constructed the docks was doing rouitine maintenance on my dock one day and commented that this marina is the best maintained in Marina del Rey. Response to problems is always very fast even after the Tsunami that broke some of the gates to the docks. Alicia was on top of it and everything was back to normal very quickly. The boater's rest rooms are always clean and well maintained. Juan and Marciano are always friendly and quick to lend a hand by opening gates if I have my arms full of stuff and they see me coming Alicia runs a tight ship. There are no derelict boats in the marina or messy maintainance jobs tolerated. The marina is maintained as a very pleasant environment. Alicia is also very considerate about notifying renters about planned maintenance, special events in the area or intervals when the marina office will be closed. I'm very happy to be docking my boat here. John Lewis s/v Active Transport"
"This review is for Marina City Marina which is operated out of the Marina City Club Apartments. We have had our boat docked at Marina City for almost 2 years. The Dock Master, Alicia, and her team do a great job of making sure we are always able to enjoy our visits to the Marina. The common areas are all well maintained and the common area bathrooms, laundry facilities, and parking are always clean. There is always plenty of parking for our guests, like when we had 20+ people out for the Super Bowl LVI watch party on the boat! They always address any concerns we have and work with us on accommodating our requests when they can. Highly recommend the Marina. Alicia and her team are the best!"
