Reviews of Parkway Terrace Apartments
"I stayed here for two years. Under the new management the apartment has changed a lot, they renovated the new units, and it is in a great location. I never had any issues with anything, the new manager Luz is very friendly and makes sure residents feel good. One thing to note is that there is no central cooling and you will need an ac during summers."
"Worst place I've ever lived. Mold, parking structure would flood. Sewer backup all the time. When the manager found out l was diagnosed with cancer. After I came home from hospital they put a 60 day notice taped to my door, to vacate premises. Fiance Never late with rent, no complaints. Just a manager who was no good. I'm sorry to say this but its the truth. We moved and we're glad we did."
"They NEVER answer the PHONE!!!!"
"I lived there back in the mid 80's in upper corner unit number 319. The single bedroom unit was approximately 800 sq-ft in size and has a center wood beamed ceiling. Heating was electric (in the ceiling) and the fireplace was gas but started by electrical wall switch. Anyone living there now should use the gas fireplace to warm the apartment instead of using the electric heat, cheaper. Do not use real firewood in the fireplace since the vent only opens when the gas fire is turned on. Another apartment tried and they nearly burned the building down from what I was told. Plenty of closet space and fairly large bedroom. Never used the pool not sure if it was heated. Also I did not use the kitchen much, only my microwave. The location has a Fox Hills park across the street and within walking distance of the Fox Hills mall and easy access to the freeway. The drawbacks that I experienced include termite damage to the interior and exterior wood beams, no air conditioning (needed about two weeks out of the year), lower units BBQ smoke can enter unit if windows open, and when a city bus passes by the apartment complex my unit would shake simulating a small earthquake. Once in a while there was issues with ants, I mean freeways of ants. While I lived there the basement garage would flood when heavy rainfall occurred, there was a few incidents of apartments break in and also car break ins. The garage was gated but at the time I lived there the gate code was not changed when somebody moved out. My car was broken into (even with an alarm system) and the apartment manager's 911 had its wheels stolen, so that is how I know. They changed the gate code once their car was broken into. I installed a alarm system in the apartment. The apartment manager set it off one day, while I was at work, attempting to enter my apartment without giving me notice and left the door open. I do not think the locks are changed when people move out, so it might be possible for someone to make copies of the keys and that is why I recommend getting an alarm system for the apartment. Also avoid the lower units since when the plumbing back up their units would see the water from the units above. Seems like a lot of negatives, but 99 percent of the time it was a decent place to live. You get use to the bus-quakes and the air quality was good (at the time). Sorry about this long winded review."
"Very serene and quiet building. The rent is very reasonable, friendly tenants, it's well maintained, very clean, love that they have security cameras all over the place(even in the elevators) & you just cannot beat the location! I just wish they had A/C & washer/dryers in the apts but it is an older building so you can't have everything. The pros far outweigh the cons! Highly recommend!"
