Reviews
"The Reserve Apartment Homes, in Bakersfield California exceeded my expectations in every way. The community's ambience is transquil, and the facilities are top notch. Maria Serrano, the Community Manager is delightful and exceptional. Her dedication to resident satisfaction truly sets The Reserve apart."
"Looks can be very deceiving. 1. Noise The walls/floors are thin. The units are packed with 8 doors per hall and you’ll hear people in & out slamming doors and talking all throughout the day/night. Surrounded by other tenants with only plywood separating you, you’ll hear arguments, loud music on speakers from the cars and the other apartments, dogs barking, children playing in the halls and the constant foot traffic. Of course everything is going to echo through the halls and sound even louder coming into your unit. 2. Securement/Parking • Parking - You’ll be assigned a carport and given a parking permit to put in the window of your car but it means nothing. People will park in your spot because there’s not enough spots for the amount of people in the buildings and visitor parking is outside the gates which means you and your guest have to walk from the entrance, through the gates, all the way to your apartment building every time you have company over and that’s if there’s even anywhere to park out front. • Security/Safety - The security here is outsourced so when you actually find the number and call you can expect to see them a few hours later or maybe the next day and they pretty much won’t do anything that you can’t do yourself like call the cops. The cameras do work but not for you they don’t. We had several instances to happen while living here including someone breaking into our car and they would never roll the cameras back to help. One of our neighbors actually broke into our other car and stole the parking permit and there was nothing done about it until the police were involved so be prepared to fight it out in the parking lot over your parking pass I guess is what they expect you to do. Another instance someone broke into the car and stole everything that was inside and nothing came from that either even though there are cameras everywhere and another time a neighbor actually hit our car while trying to park which caused damage to our front bumper and even after the police were involved, report was filled and they were contacted by the local police department to turn over the footage of the incident they said that it accidentally got deleted since it rewrites itself every week or two. Even though it was requested by us and the police not to be deleted or tampered with which I still have the documented conversation of. • Gated community - if you’ve read this far then you probably know that the gates are not for safety or securement. They’re only there to charge you for a key fob and make it difficult for you to get your deliveries. People still come in with loud music and racing through the parking lot regardless of the gates and if they can’t get in they will sit parked in front of the gate so that you have to let them in when you open the gate for yourself to come in. Either that or they’ll just speed in behind you. 3. Management A lot of the problems with safety/security, cameras, etc was with the new management not the old. The previous management did a better job at securing the property (both yours and theirs) and would give you a call when something was of concern with your safety or the safety of your vehicle/property, not just using the cameras to spy on you and make complaints like the new management does. The only employee that I met from the new team that exhibited kindness, courtesy or professionalism was the new leasing agent Bonnie but sadly one person can’t make up for the ill manners of an entire company/operation. 4. Pricing Rent is expensive but the deposit was cheap ($500) and the move in was speedy which is why I made the decision but I really wish that I had gone elsewhere. And just to let you know you’re going to lose that deposit anyways plus a lot more fees that they’ll try to charge you for and say that you owe them. ($125 for carpet cleaning, $500 for paint, $305 for general cleaning, etc.) even if you leave the place better than they gave it to you. Its not a deposit its a down payment. I recommend that you save yourself some time, some money and some grief and go elsewhere."
"The Reserve Apartments deserve a higher review. Bonnie was super helpful and very responsive via email. The move in process/approval was super easy and fast. Moving is stressful, but the staff made it easy. Big shoutout to Bonnie for being AMAZING at her job!"
"This place is the worst and the problems didn't end after moving out. I never got my security deposit back and they're dodging my calls and never call back. It's been 5 months since I've moved. Parking there was horrendous, the design of the apartment was cheaply made and not practical whatsoever, and the walls were so paper thin. Management was super rude and would find ways to scam you out of your money such as charging the application fees 5x+ times, or sending very confusing letters about rent renewals that are set up to raise the rent amount if you didn't renew the lease 3 months before the year was up. Avoid this place at all costs."
