Reviews of The Carlyle Apartments
"I have been living here for about 8 months and i have been trying to get in touch with them about a few reserved parking spots. I have contacted them multiple times. They keep telling me the have an audit to check on who actually has permits. I have been walking around the complex and see that, almost or if not, most cars don't even have permits. Also, the gate leading into the "luxury apartment" has been broken for the last two weeks, there were a crew working on it for 4 hours and want to know how it turned out? STILL BROKEN. I have seen multiple people complaining that the towing company that's supposed to tow the random vehicles that can go in and park in any spot, they don't even have a contract with them anymore. So there's a bunch of random cars with or without permits. Just give me my TWO parking spots. PLEASE. I have to beg the place i live in, to do there job. I'm literally offering you money for those spots so just take my money and give me my spots."
"Seemingly a nice place to live but a much different experience once you live here. Maintenance is great since they work in a timely manner for any repairs that are needed. However, the management and leasing team are lacking tremendously. There is no one onsite so it’s nearly impossible to speak to anyone about anything. When you do reach someone by calling, they either never follow up or don’t process anything related to what you talked about. My partner and I had an issue because they couldn’t locate a current lease for us and when they said they’d send an updated one so that we could update occupants on it also, it was never sent. I gave my email and information over the phone only to be called again and asked the information all over again. I still have not received any email or follow up regarding this matter. This was over 3 months ago. Things just don’t get done here. It seems as if the leasing team is not competent to do their job. This miscommunication or lack of communication is why leases can’t be located and things are not processed. As a tenant, this is very frustrating- constantly being given the run around. I have also had my car vandalized right in front of the complex and even while parked inside. In regards to parking, if someone is parked in your assigned spot then there is nothing you can do because you can’t reach anyone in these instances. You can call the tow company yourself but they request a “tow card” that is “issued by the leasing team” but when you ask leasing or maintenance for the card, they have no idea what you’re talking about. So parking is more or less a free for all. Regardless of if you’re paying for it or not. The communication with leasing and management is ridiculous to say the least. I’d highly recommended leasing elsewhere if you are on the hunt for a new apartment. I will definitely be ready to end our lease the next time it’s up and find a well managed community."
"They advertise these as being luxury apartments, and the price reflects that. They also advertise amenities such as a gym, pool, and private security. The gym is very small and not comfortable for more than one maybe two people to work out in at a time. The weights have been stolen so those are no longer available to residents. Private parties are constantly being held at the pool every other weekend so it is not always accessible to residents even though the rules only allow for a couple of guests. The private security doesn’t enforce parking rules, pool rules, loitering in the parking lot rules, quiet hour rules. There are people who smoke and drink and hang out in the parking lot all hours of the day and night without any regard for children passing by. Also I’ve had things stolen out of my garage, and I know of a resident that had her laptop stolen out of her apartment. It’s sad. There are a lot of homeless people on the other side of the fence of the property. I’ve seen them climbing the fence and using the pool. Super random but one time I was there and a homeless person jumped the fence to swim and Dude did a really cool backflip into the pool. My heart breaks seeing people living in tents addicted to drugs, but at the same time they shouldn’t be allowed to trespass in the apartments. Not only that the office staff has made the experience of me trying to renew my lease impossible. First they sent me the lease with the wrong names, then the wrong pricing twice. Then we went back and forth for a few weeks and none of the links they sent over would work. There is no one in the office here for you to reach out to in person so I had to drive across town to sign my lease. The person in office there made a mistake so now I am being asked to drive across town to sign my lease again. My lease was due 6 weeks ago so now I have month to month charges on my account. At this time I’m being told they will adjust them, and I believe they will adjust them. When you call the people are nice, but they are not on the property and are not always much help. The corporation seems out of touch with what’s going on here. I’m also disappointed because the market value of these apartments has gone down over the last year. I asked them twice if they would adjust my rate to reflect the current market value of the apartments. On some days, I’ve seen it listed as much as $500 cheaper than what we pay now, and they told me no that I would need to rent an entirely different apartment. Doesn’t make much sense to me. Also the granite countertops are fake. They’re painted on. They look nice but stain very easily. Also the screws they used for the cabinet door are so tiny that the doors are constantly falling off. I’ve had maintenance come several times to re-attach the same door. One thing that is nice is maintenance has a great response time. All in all I would say that I do not feel valued here as a resident. I am upset that they’ve put me in the position to have to move in order to pay a fair price on a rental. I will leave and they will have to renovate the entire apartment and rent it out cheaper anyway, it doesn’t make sense to me."
"Really bad place to live these days. Its a gated community but the gate is useless. They constantly are broken and the pedestrian doors stay open often. There is constant theft within the community from stolen packages to stolen property and car break-ins. Its either from the workers or the people that live there. There are apartments that are rented with the intention of renting out every room including the kitchen and living room to strangers. You have to pay to park you car inside the community but even your reserved parking spots get taken by strangers who have no parking passes and management hasn't done anything about it The car break ins are just as bad as parking outside. I have a car that I rarely drive and parts were stolen from it and it was clearly an inside job as no one but the residences here ever see the car. Their amenities are a joke too. There are stolen weights in the gym that they never replace. The pool gets taken over by large parties of people not from the complex with heavy drinkers and leave alcohol around so its unusable. It smells like weed every day. Morning, day and night. The "Clubhouse" advertised on the site is not usable. They barely started allowing people to use it but only monday-friday during work hours and even if you wanted to use it, its always locked. Your not allowed to walk into the office and they never answer their phones. The "security" will answer the calls but they put you on a long hold and don't actually come out or call you back like they say they do. Overall, its very expensive and there are much more ghetto places that are better worth the price of rent than here."
