"We just moved to the Alderwood Apartment, and this is really a nice place to live in. The community is quiet, the management team is also very efficient! John from the leasing office has helped us a lot, Introducing the apartment and then helping us with the smooth check in. Thank you, John, to make us feel like At Home!!"
"Pros: - nice outdoor area. - 1 bd apartments have a great floor plan (large bathroom with storage, window at the kitchen, bathroom is away from dining area, entrance area does not overlap with living area like in other complexes where to enter kitchen you need to go over dirty entrance area, large balcony with storage). - good maintenance team. - parcel locker so 95% chance you get your package. - community web portal, somewhat useful to learn what's happening (stolen/broken-into cars, etc) Cons: - AC is only in one room, you cannot stay in the bedroom at summer time, up until late evening. AC is old and after working in cooling mode for a while it starts to emit a rotten smell, cleaning does not help. - some neighbors use smelly drier sheets so you may need to keep windows closed until it's night. - pool parties are very noisy at summer, you don't necessary need to leave in front of the pool to keep windows closed if you want to go to sleep at 9pm. - curtesy/security patrol is a joke. - mobile connection is weak in many areas of the complex so when you call someone they often cannot hear you. - management calls dryer vent cleaning services once in a while, those guys do NOT use vacuum but instead blow all dust from roofs right on people walking by, balconies (be ready to collect chunks of dust at the balcony), etc. It's so negligent. - management was good. now there is a new face in the leasing office every quarter. they no longer answer emails and often skip phone calls. if you go straight into the office - sometimes they just ignore your ask. one person from the leasing office is just rude: imagine you carry something bulky and heavy in your hands and you'd think that manager will give you a way? wrong guess. you will back track all the way to the sidewalk intersection and wait for that manager to pass. sooo rude. - washer... if you wash two t-shirts size M once a week then it will work for you. The washer is so tiny, no matter what cycle you choose - it will be no more than two cups of water inside. Don't tell me about HE (high efficiency) model - it's just plain marketing, because to really wash a thing you NEED enough water. - balcony large window/door is cheaply made and has only one glass pane. that means 5-6 cold months each year you need to fully wipe it from condensation 1-3 times a day, mostly in the morning, no, it does not dry by itself so wet it gets. - couple of neigbors have unhealthy dogs that jump on people. - every time someone moves out and there is an apartment repair, they shut off water in whole building for 3 hours, once it was without any notice. I gave it 4 stars but it's probably more like 3 stars for me, every rented apartment has its issues, depending what's important for you and what's your lifestyle."
"*updating my review, as the experience of living at Alderwood has declined in quality the past year.* Maintenance staff remains responsive and the apartment is as nice as it has always been, but communication from the property management office has become poor. I've had water shut off to my building multiple mornings without notice. Mail theft remains a problem, with packages not able to be delivered to the amazon lockers and piling up on the floor of the mail room where anyone can take them. One of the large lawns on the property has been fenced off for months without explanation. Parking spots have been reassigned multiple times. Landscaping service seems less frequent, with hedges becoming overgrown along walkways. Forced to upgrade to a "smart lock" on my door without consultation. Not sure what's going on, but hoping things will improve in the near future. Happy to update my review if it does. -- I've lived at Alderwood since 2018. Nice property with lots of well-maintained greenery. Many young families. Office staff is very responsive, and Cruz, Juan and Socorro always take care of service issues promptly and conscientiously."
"We have lived at Alderwood for a total of 9 years between one bedroom and then going to a two bedroom apartment. Very nice apartments, grounds are beautiful, staff are helpful. Nice quiet neighborhood, family-oriented, and love all the dogs. One of the best things about this place is the service team - they respond so fast to any work order, even if its not urgent, they are all very friendly, and can always be found around the property working hard. We have lived at several Prometheus properties around the Bay area, but this has been one of my favorites because of the location (easy access to North Bay or down to Santa Cruz), and the homey family feel here. No plans to leave any time soon!"
"Recently moved into this apartment community from another Prometheus property- Orchard Glen. Our move was quite seamless even during pandemic times. I Had few parking spot issues initially but management took care of it and gave a convenient spot! Thanks Melissa. This community truly is a green, quiet and peaceful one.. landscaping is very attractive too. They have Latch installed at this property which gives a sense of security even more. Service technicians are quick and professional! Proximity to Central park is a plus."
