The staff showed me around with great patience and continued helping me out promptly with their welcoming gesture as aI settled in. The Standard is a perfect place to call home, and the staff make it all feel like a family. Addition: Joe is one of the crew at The Standard, and he is amazing. Always greets me with a smile and would not leave my place unless the problem is fixed (he handled plumbing issue for me once). If you see, give him a hug :)"

"Result first: highly recommended! I moved from Los Angeles to San Jose for a job change and found The Standard online. The apartment is new, luxury, and comfortable. I was super worried about safety issues when looking for apartments because I’ve heard that San Jose has more criminal reports than Los Angeles. However, the environment of this apartment seems safe and quiet, and that’s a HUGE relief for me. The leasing office stuff is really nice, who answered lots of questions from me without delay. Special thanks to Aurora who helped me to move smoothly during the move-in process. Im really satisfied of this experience and made me love of living in San Jose. I would say I really recommended this apartment!"

"Editing after move-out: Our apartment was nice, and the maintenance crew, especially Joe, were great. But don't get expect to get your security deposit back! We did a pre-move-out inspection and tried to follow all of the Standard's cleaning guidelines, but we were still charged $530 upon move-out! Many of the pictures from the move-out inspection didn't show any major damages (see attached photos). We've rented in many apartments but never had to face such a high move-out fee! The leasing office didn't cooperate much and only said that the "accounting is final". Original review: Overall we resided at The Standard for about 15 months. We stayed in the G floor plan, which was really beautiful. The apartment itself was spacious and very well lit. The maintenance crew, especially Joe, were super responsive, always helpful and also educated us on a bunch of things around the apartment. The leasing office helped us move apartments. The major issue we had staying here was the app-based entry system which was cumbersome to use on a daily basis (which is why I’m giving it a 4 instead of a 5). Besides that our experience has been great!"

"I honestly don't know why The Standard has a low rating. I guess people are more likely to write 1-star reviews because they're upset, whereas everyone else who like the apartment doesn't take the time to do so. Well, I'm taking the time now because I'm bored at work. I'll start off by saying that I highly recommend this apartment. My fiancé and I toured 10 apartments before deciding on this one. My true rating is 4.5 stars, which I explain below. The first pro to this place is the location. It's quiet, not too crowded, but also not walking distance to anything but a brewery, Safeway, and McDonalds. -Second, it's a super cool place to live at! The study lounge is cool, the fitness center is cool, the pool is cool (excuse my limited vocabulary). -The apartments have ceiling to floor windows. And our windows are south facing, so we get the very best lighting. -The actual apartments are modern. I feel wealthy living there even though I'm not. -We've made several service calls for issues we've had, and the handyman always arrives within 24 hours. They even replaced our dishwasher when ours went out (albeit they did so after our third request). My fiancé already knows our handyman on a first name basis (but I doubt he knows ours). -The complex has NO BUGS. No roaches, spiders, bedbugs, you name it. -Our packages are always safe. Even when the delivery person doesn't follow instructions and leaves our package outside of the locker, no one takes them. -Also, the lobby staff people are super helpful, we also know all their names (esp. Aurora - shout out to her). I'm sure there's more good things to note, but I've forgotten at the moment. I remember my fiancé and I were hesitant to move here because we read some reviews about bike theft and car theft, but we spoke to a rep here about our concerns and she said that those incidents are not recent, which is true. They implemented a new security system since then that uses an app rather than a fob. Which takes me to the first con of this place: the new security system! Yes, it works in the sense that the place is more secure, but the garage doesn't have any Wi-Fi or cell reception, so the app doesn't load for me down there! It's frustrating and it's my only true complaint. The rep told me I should open the app BEFORE I enter the garage, but honestly, I always forget to do that. As a workaround, I've been taking the stairs up to the ground level and then catching the elevator from there, but that sucks when I'm carrying a bunch of shopping bags. The other con is that sometimes the pool gets loud? But I don't really care about that. The windows are soundproof, so I just shut them. Anyway, I think that's all I have to say about this place. We may or may not extend our lease here. It depends on our financial situation."

"The service and care from the Standard Staff are incredible! Anytime I need work orders completed, Joe is the first to respond within the same day and is quick to take care of the issues. He’s extremely responsive and very reliable! The office staff are very courteous and communicate efficiently on matters that important and even time sensitive. Olga, Ana, and Aurora are really kind and make sure everything is taken care of as well. Overall, the standard has taken really good care of the property as well. They recently changed the garage gates which are more secured and easier to enter/leave from. The mailboxes have been updated so every package is secured using your mailroom code and includes plenty of boxes so no ones packages can ever be stolen or lost. I would highly recommend considering your stay at The Standard. They’ll always take good care of you!"
