"The experience at Brookside Oaks is extremely terrible. It is truly among the worst apartments. 1.When I moved in, the management team put wrong address on the lease which caused me to change my driver license and everything to a wrong address. The unit number in the apartment is different from the mailing address, so it is hard to tell which corresonds to what. The management team told me that running into such kind of issue is normal here and enforced me for signing a new lease without bothering to help to solve the wrong-address issue on my side. Puting the wrong address in the lease is ridiculous. It took me months to fix this issue. 2.The shower issue and poisonous fumes. The shower floor turned out to have a minor crack which was not addressed properly by the team before move in. The management team sent someone to reglaze the shower flooring. As you search on Google, you will find the reglazing process emits poisonous fumes. However, the management team did not inform me the fumes are poisonous. The smell at that night was so strong and the disgusting smell remained until the shower was removed. I felt very uncomfotable and literally had to keep the window open over night. It was cold at night in winter. The experience is terrible. Again, the management team told me running into such kind of issue is normal here. The installation of a new shower is required as the management team told me the reglazed shower floor cannot last long. The management team promised 2 days for finishing off the shower installation. When asked whether there would be unpleasant smells, the management team said no. However, it took them 4 days and the lingering smell from the bad decoration materials was so strong that the window needs to be kept open 24 hrs a day with fans blowing new air in for the next a few months. The paint was even wet for a long time when I saw it as they did not arrange things well and worked on things with poor quality in rainy days. Over the entire process, there were around 10 days the shower was missing or has wet paints/terribly bad smells and even the bathroom could not be used. I had to take shower elsewhere. The experience is again terrible here. 3.Illegal charges at move out. The deposit check was not returned within 21 days of move out according to California's laws. This is evidented by the stamped date on the envelope past 21 days. Furthermore, the management team withheld money from the security deposit by charging the cleaning fees. The management team did not provide any photos to illustrate anywhere inside the unit was not as clean as I moved in. The management team told me charging cleaning fees is pretty much the norm here even if the unit is left very clean. Watch out for this illegal rental practice."
"To summarize, decent location, good outdoor amenities, great staff but overpriced apartments. I lived here for about 2 years. First year in a loft 1 bedroom and second in a studio. My experience overall is mixed. I think the price of these apartments are mainly a result of the good area, outdoor amenities, and maintenance staff and not their apartment quality. The good: maintenance staff and outdoor upkeep. For sure the maintenance staff I interacted with was incredible. Always delivered and responded to issues quickly. Outdoor amenities, grass, shrubs etc., were kept pretty well and so everything looked nice. The location is also pretty good; the standard middle/upper middle class suburb so it was pretty quiet and generally felt safe. The bad: The fixtures, walls, flooring, etc., are the standard "cheap" apartment quality. The walls were thin and neighbors/pets were easy to hear and if you get a bottom floor unit, you will hear the upstairs neighbors. Also, if you have a bottom floor, you have to keep an eye out for bugs (due to the proximity to a creek nearby). The interior amenities are ok, but clearly of the "cheap as possible, replaceable" kind, not fitting of a $2.5k+ rent (which increases by $100+ each year) in my opinion. Also the interior lighting of the units I had were very poor; there were not enough light fixtures in the main areas. I also wasn't a fan of the recent enforcement of certain "rules" that were not clearly listed/defined in the leasing agreement."
"I was a happy resident for more than 2 years and would have renewed again if I didn’t need to upgrade to a larger space. The leasing office is friendly, responsive, and caring. Service personnel are professional, quick, and skilled. Although it’s somewhat close to the highway, I like the location due to its proximity to Rancho San Antonio and Steven Creek park. It is also 10 minutes away from the Skyline blvd. Lastly, my wife and I enjoyed evening walks along Belleville Way where it’s safe at night and the homes haves beautiful landscaping."
"This review is for the leasing experience I received from Daisy. She was exceptional during my apartment hunt and was always on top of it. She periodically checked in with me over a month's period to make sure I was fully informed of new vacancies and current promotions. It was a breath of fresh air compared with other apartment's leasing teams in the area. Feels like pulling teeth trying to get information from other leasing agents but not with Daisy! Daisy was always friendly, optimistic, not pushy and always willing to help. I can tell she truly cares about her job and that if had chosen to live at Brookside Oaks, all my issues as a resident would have been dealt with swiftly without any worries. Unfortunately I choose to stay close to my friends and family since I am still working from home."
"Daisy, the leasing specialist, is super friendly and did a phenomenal job answering all our questions about the apartments and the community. It’s my gf and I first time apartment hunting so we have a ton of questions about the application process, the lease etc and Daisy was very patient and knowledgeable about all aspects. She is quick to respond to texts and emails and has talked to us on the phone many times to provide clarity throughout the process. It is so refreshing to know that there is someone at the property that cares so much about the community. Thank you Daisy for making the apartment hunting process very easy and stress-free! Also for anyone reading previous negative reviews about the property management, the community manager has changed. Robyn, the new community manager, has been very friendly and helpful. She has been very accommodating with our request to see extra floor plans, details etc. She is also quick to respond to our calls, texts, and emails, and is extremely organized! Out of the 20+ places that we visited during our apartment hunt, Brookside Oaks stands out because of their amazing staff!"
