Corsair Flats is a senior housing community located at 171 West Atlantic Avenue in Alameda, California. This institution is the first building constructed as part of the Alameda Point Site master development, offering beautiful views of the Bay. The community features four floors with elevator access, a community room with a kitchen, a computer lab, on-site laundry facilities, bike storage, community gardens, and a courtyard with seating areas.

The path to redevelopment began in 1997 when the Navy suspended operations, and now the site is set to include a total of 800 mixed-income housing units with retail and office space, as well as new streets, sidewalks, parks, and a ferry terminal. Corsair Flats provides 60 homes for seniors, with 30 set aside for unhoused individuals, including 28 homes for veterans who have experienced homelessness. Supportive services are offered through a collaboration between Operation Dignity, Eden Housing Resident Services, Inc., and the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.

The waitlist for 1 and 2 bedroom affordable apartments at Corsair Flats will open from October 25, 2021, to November 30, 2021. Applicants and household members must be 62 or older to apply. Income limits per household size are specified, and current rents for 1 and 2 bedroom units are provided. Pets are allowed in accordance with the Pet Policy of Eden Housing Management, Inc., with a pet deposit required.

Corsair Flats has received recognition as an AIA East Bay Design Award Finalist and a ULI Terwilliger Center 2021 Annual Housing Award Finalist.
