Reviews of Orion Apartments
"It really takes a lot for me to write a review. I don't care for people to read about my opinion unless I am absolutely happy or absolutely unhappy about a service. However, Orion has been been nothing but professional, kind, and helpful. I moved to these apartments in July 2023. I came into the office one day and gave my exact requirements to Gerardo and he showed me exactly what I had asked for in the price ranges I was looking at. Everything was quick and honored all deals that I could be getting. Since then, Gerardo has helped me with finding me a new parking spot in the garage, helped me with adding an addition to my lease, and just in general a kind person to chat with. Gerardo, Nashonna, and the entire front office has been kind and respectful to me since I have moved into Orion. Additionally, the maintenance team, especially James, have been on top of every request I have submitted. The entire team at Orion has been just A+ with their treatment of tenants. I have gone through some of these reviews and am actually quite appalled with what I have read. A lot of these "issues" people have posted about just seem completely untrue especially when directly compared to my experiences at Orion. My advice is for people to come and check it out and just talk to the team. They're good people and they're really helping you out. They are also following the rules of every other landlord (ie "pay your rent every month") so if you are a current tenant who is not paying rent, then that is your own problem. Every other landlord would be on your case too if you don't pay your rent. Lesson is...PAY YOUR RENT. Anyway, apologies to the Orion team for the dumb things people are posting on reviews. I understand people can only speak to their own experiences, however I can't stand by seeing the bashing that is happening to people who have been doing their jobs."
"Management team at the leasing, save Julius C who unfortunately has to work under a manager hot glued to his desk chair with a tether to the customer service abyss, is sophomoric at best. The experience as a prospective tenant left everything to be desired and essentially showed their cards to their ineffectiveness at basic problem solving. If you're not going problem solve with me during the application stage you're certainly not going to once I'm a tenant. According to the onsite manager, their "pay verification" software is devoid of any workarounds when it doesn't work even though we all know there have to be mitigation steps available. Cushman & Wakefield are dropping the ball with the administration of this promising property. Save your time look elsewhere."
"Not only did the new management raise rent to loyal residents, but now they are also shadily trying to sneak in extra monthly “amenity” costs. After getting rent raised around $200 per month, residents also now have to pay almost $100 PER MONTH in “Valet Trash” fees, on top of about $100 in other amenities, not including electric which we have to pay. With the old management, I routinely paid about $50 - $60 a month for trash fees. The new management claims the added trash fee is just part of the “service” that barely anyone uses, and dances around the true reason for the increases (the true reason is they are greedy). The new management also told residents that they cannot use privacy screens on balconies, which is an absurd requirement. Rumor has it they also threatened people with legal action for leaving negative reviews, almost forcing them to delete them. I love the Brooklyn Basin area, but Orion is going way overboard on pricing, and is going to lose a lot of loyal residents at this rate, especially considering they are probably going to raise our rent another 7% to 9% next year. And especially considering they are never present in the leasing office, and horrible with responses to emails and calls. I would go 1 Star, but I went with 2 Stars since the maintenance team is actually reliable, the only current positive of living here."
"@orionapartments racially profiled us. They kept canceling our application, went we down there about 5 times, called, emailed, they didn’t want to help us at ALL, the guy showing us the apartment acted like he didn’t even want to show it to us, had an attitude the whole time, even the manager said “I can’t help you” smh. So if you’re wondering why you only see CERTAIN races in LUXURY apartments, it’s because they don’t want US (Black people) there. But let me tell you what GOD did. We went to ONE place for a tour, ONE time, used the SAME EXACT application format (because Orion application was on there with the log in Smh) and got APPROVED that SAME day when @orionapartments said “it will take 3 days to know if you’re approved or not”. The staff HELPED us through the process & handed us our keys. When the enemy tries to break you down, make you want to GIVE UP, we just PRAYED & GOD took care of it. And we got a better place, more bedrooms & WAY better amenities. It’s sad even in 2023 a company would racially profile you & deliberately sabotage your application process by purposely canceling it, so you couldn’t live there. Me & my wife alone make WELL over 3 times the rent, so money wasn’t an issue & clearly we were qualified because with the SAME application process we were approved for a better place. My advice, don’t ever spend your money where you’re not welcomed & never judge a book by it’s cover because I am VERY well known & know ALOT of important people & I will see to it that this doesn’t happen to anybody else because racism is NEVER ok."
"Someone was at my door by the following morning after summiting my maintenance request. They were professional and very helpful. Everything was fixed in a timely manner. They made sure I took a look before leaving and made sure every thing was working."
