"That moment when your apartment complex asks you to remove your door rug. Not sure if this is supposed to be residential and feel like home or a bare prison. We re-signed a few months ago but it feels like management has changed for the worse. Come live here if you want to live under an authoritarian."
"I have lived there for 1.5 years. Felt super safe. Great amenities and service. It almost feels like you are in a star hotel. Nice high sealing apartments. Pool is well maintained. Really enjoyed the time I lived there. Super close to literally everything .. groceries, food , theater , clubs .."
"TLDR; All the negative reviews are drastically overdramatic or completely outdated. Allow me to share a review in 2023. I lived here for one year and never experienced anything negative: never felt unsafe, never had a package stolen, my car was never broken into. I had a great time living here (only reason I moved out was because of work). If you're interested in knowing the details, here they are: Management: I don't understand management complains. Ever since my lease started in 2022, management was very responsive and helped me troubleshoot all my issues. My apartment only had a few problems and they were taken care off almost immediately. Management team has grown and response team was ~1 hour during weekdays or immediate if you go to the leasing office. Props to Antonio and Christopher for always being so responsive. Elevators: The complex has ~6 elevators, and the distance from one or the other isn't that much (like 200 ft). Whenever an elevator stops working, you can just use the other in the meantime. They always post the reason why an elevator stopped working and updates about the parts and fix. Same thing with the garage gate. The main entrance has 2 elevators and I have never seen both elevators not working. Safety: I definitely wouldn't say it's an unsafe neighborhood. People would freak out because there was one gun incident a couple of blocks away from the complex. It is very close to Redwood City's downtown, so you might encounter some homeless people near the Caltrain, but that happens in ALL the Caltrain stations! Car break-ins & stolen bikes: My car was never broken into, not even tempered. I saw a bunch of cars with items inside, all the time. If you are aware of car break-ins, why leave valuables inside your car? I understand that we shouldn't worry for those kind of things when you are paying for garage parking, but this is a Bay Area-wide problem. It is easy to complain but people love to avoid accountability. Stolen bikes are a different story though. There's a bike rack in some parking spots and some bikes were indeed stolen (I wouldn't say it's common, but you don't get notified every time it happens). The only alternative is to bring your bike to your apartment, which is an awful solution. That is one big problem that has to be solved Stolen packages: I had more than 120 packages ordered here. Not a single one was stolen. All of them were delivered to the package room and I retrieved them within one day, every time. If there's room in the lockers your package will be there, if not, it will be placed within the FOB-access only room. Some tenants leave their packages there for days or even weeks, and then they also complain about packages being stolen. Just retrieve them on a timely manner and you'll be alright. Amenities: The amenities are really good, and the gym has seen a lot of improvements in the last year. Even though the gym is not huge, it has a lot more equipment than your average apartment complex gym. The jacuzzi is always warm and the view from the rooftop lounge is fantastic! Location: This complex is very centric. There's a Safeway + a Whole Foods one and two blocks away from the complex. Sequoia station also has other convenience stores + a pharmacy and the Caltrain. Redwood City downtown has a lot of restaurants and some entertainment places. Considering how centric the apartment is, I think it is very safe and quiet in comparison to other South Bay Downtowns. Security Deposit: I've also read complains about the security deposit. I was only charged for the professional cleaning + paint + carpet shampoo, which in my opinion is understandable. My apartment was in a pretty good condition when I left, although it had a couple of nail holes and other small details. I wasn't charged extra for those things. They are also very transparent with the move-out expenses and offer a pre-move out inspection so you can fix some stuff before leaving and inducing in every extra cost."
"This is an incredibly unsafe place to live, beware! I’ve been here for 6 months and have never seen a security guard. Packages have been stolen on multiple occasions and there are only 2 package boxes with 100s of units. Management claims it’s the tenet’s problem if a package is stolen (even though we pay a mandatory monthly fee for the locker service). There was a break in and no one was informed - I found out only because I reported my package stolen. When you say something is broken (like the call box outside you are patronized with a “sorry”). This place has new management but it’s worse than the old."
"Updated the review from moving out after a year’s lease and witnessing the issues. Moved out and things really started to downturn beginning 2022. The scaffolding around the apartment is finally removed after almost a year of living here when they excepted to be a few months. But it’s finally removed, and the building outside looks good now. Due to management being so short staffed, issues related to delivery lockers still exist. Package delivery has been messy but because there were no staff, they could only contact carrier with no substantial effect. When more Management team were there, at least they occasionally help put the package into the locker, it is impossible for a one man team now unfortunately. But at least the residents put labels on the wall and the packages are roughly in place at the moment. Garage door was a issue I saw and thought I could live with it, but it broke and stuck open, and fixing it took months, leading to stolen property including my bike. The valet garbage collection is actually quite useful, and it was 19 per month for me. I feel that is a reasonable charge for a decent service. There was a mischarge on carpet replacement leading to deducting all my security deposit. But after contacting them, the Management are quick to correct the amount. The neighborhood is still pretty good. ——— Original, positive review: Moved in 3 months ago. So far so good! The staff are friendly and responsive. The building has 5 elevators but one of them is down recently. The staff notified us through email and community post on time."
