Reviews of Deerfield Ranch Winery
"The "cave tasting" is walking 150 feet or so through a finished, furnished cave to a selection of couches and tables for a tasting. Those looking for a wine cave tour and information on aging should look elsewhere. The wine was okay. The Sauvignon Blanc had gone bad, though I don't know enough to say if it was corked or light struck or something else. The unracked Pinot Noir was good, though not a ton of character. Everything else was immemorable. If you're new to wine tasting, it's nice to experience a venue where you're not "bellying up to the bar" like most tasting rooms, but I can't recommend purchasing any bottles there or bringing a group for a social experience."
"The Cellar is Huge and impressive. They have an entire bar, restaurant and spread underground there. It is amazing for events and on hot days. I was there for a wedding rehearsal and we had some Paella that was fantastic with the great Wine!"
"Fabulous wines and great staff. Our introduction was at a comedy performance held on the crushpad last weekend. The show was great made even better with the wine! We had Syrah, Pinot, Sauv Blanc and bought a bottle of Port. Highly recommend!"
"We visited Deerfield yesterday as part of a Platypus tour and we were very impressed. Their wine selections and quality are fantastic, the knowledge of their representatives is considerable, they are very down to earth and friendly, and their caves are very impressive and memorable. I've had to avoid red wine for over 5 years because of migraines, but your staff educated us about your "Clean Wine" with low histamines. Last night we finished a bottle of the Deerfield Cabernet Sauvingon (see attached photo - taken at Cole's in Napa on the patio) and this morning I felt great and had absolutely no migraine. What a refreshing experience AND what an awesomely good wine. We look forward to visiting you again some time soon!"
"This place is a fantastically unique experience, walking through a long production cave filled with wine barrels. The tasting room is a cool 60 degrees and the ambience is incredible. If you get lucky enough to talk with Tom, you'll have a very enjoyable experience. Fully recommended."
