"We've had a pleasant experience moving here. The staff is highly efficient and friendly. We've had a few minor issues that the neighbor caused but Abe, Jesus and Rhonda took care of it in a timely manner. Kudos to Abe for helping assemble our dinner table, it looks great! Thank you Hunter and Gabby for helping us complete our lease application."
"I’ve been here for a few months now. When I first checked out Sterling, things seemed fine. The unit looked good but when I moved in, I realized the appliances were not the same as the unit I viewed & are old. The fridge and stove had dings, and the fridge seal wasn't right, causing leaks sometimes due to condensation but I just deal with it bec. apparently it’s not grounds for replacement. When I moved in, I had to take lots of photos and send them to the staff to document the issues. I had to tell them obvious issues like adding grout to the sink & faucet, the bath tub. They painted it but left the papers and tapes, which some are still there because I couldn’t reach them. Also, when I moved in during the summer, there were tons of bugs and flies all over—both in the hallways and on the patio. It was gross. They were getting inside the unit through the front door because there was a huge gap so I had to but a silicone cover for the bottom of the door. When I told them about it, they said it's their natural habitat. They told me someone would handle the flies on my patio, but nobody came. Every now and then, we get emails reminding us to keep the patio clear, which is odd because isn’t it included in the rent to decorate how you want? The management sets a lot of rules and provides little help. They rarely answer calls, so you have to go to the office in person to reach someone. The worst was when I accidentally locked myself out. When I asked for help, they said maintenance wouldn't be there for an hour and wanted $300 just to open the door. I decided to wait for a family member with a spare key instead. Oddly, my neighbor had a similar situation, but Sterling didn't charge them. They also showed up unannounced claiming they left a note and sent an email but they never did. Or they’d send an email that there’s a mandatory fire alarm testing but they never showed up. The washer doesn't do a good job cleaning my clothes. I can also tell that the previous tenant was a smoker bec. the unit has a distinct smell affecting all fabrics I own, including my clothes. Surprisingly, Sterling took no action to address this odor before renting out the supposedly non-smoking unit. Generally, I'm not satisfied here, but I'm managing. I have to. Not sure if you’ll find something better in Vallejo for this price? Despite a rent of $1725, extra fees push it close to $1850/month. Parking isn't free ($100), which is unfortunate because there's never any parking after 9 pm. The gym smells bad, and the equipments are rusty. It’s hot in the summer so we’d have to prop the door open with the small garbage can and in colder months, there’s no heat so it’s freezing in there. Gate on the side is never locked so anyone can get it in. I hope they fix that."
"I’ve been her a year and half so this an updated version. When we first moved our fridge and sink were leaking but they fixed it( probably should’ve replaced them prior to our move in) however we did have an incident where our specific unit had no hot water for 1 week. They replaced the old water heater with another old one.. Front office did not offer for us to use another unit in the meantime or pay for hotel as hot water is required by state. (we took cold showers) overall maintenance is friendly they replace stuff but sometimes can not be thorough. Parking is absurd and the worst part. $100 for overhang which is insane. No tenants are given a specific spot. So if you don’t pay good luck finding a spot. Even then we waited 4 months on multiple occasions before being assigned overhang. They inspect for carpet and do usual maintenance routine for fire alarms, concrete, vent cleanings. Unfortunately I guess our carpet was “ clean enough” so we didn’t get new carpet :/ Front office is great any concerns they’ll get to you asap. I enjoy the people who live here for the most part they are all considerate and friendly. Occasional noises due to thin walls but nothing too much. Security until around 7pm I believe I’ve seen them on sunday( days where front office is not in) Safety measures have been increased but frequent problems with gates especially those connecting the dds plaza and apartments. Homeless people tend to dig through the trash (first year 2022 was very often) now it’s less."
"Ashli and Hunter are the best! They are very personable and leave you feeling that they care about your situation, they are always available and respond at every request, I feel like we are valued as tenants, and can depend on them to get things taken care of big or small. Great place to live!"
"Charge $100 for a regular park stall. Sucks....I updated my review as of July 18, 2022. Management needs to listen up! No more false advertising. No fireplaces, jacuzzi broken since March 2022, pool frigid like the front office administration. The maintenance crew people are nice and professional even if THEY skim on finished work."
