Reviews of Naval Pharmacy
"The WORST Navy pharmacy in San Diego. Called in two refills on Thursday, 22 Feb, automated response said they would be ready for pickup Tuesday, 27 Feb. Went to pick them up on 5 Mar, checked in at 0941 with QR code and "get in line". At 1040, still hadn't been called up. When I approached the window to ask for a status, the lady at window 3 acted like she could give two effs less. In that time, watched about 20 people walk up to the window and leave with prescriptions. Update: At 1100, approached the window again, told the same lady I called the refills in two weeks ago. She went and managed to find one, but said the other was never filled. She blamed it on "system issues". Got a text at 1110 that the other one was ready, have now been in line behind 10 people at the pharmacy for another 30 minutes. This is nuts. AVOID."
"Staff working on 06DEC2023. Staff was unprofessional, discourteous, and had no sense of service to military members and their famies. We arrived at 4:20pm. They close at 5 pm, and the female worker stated that they close at 4:30 pm and told the male why hasn't he locked the door and brought in the signs. The Male employee said, "Because we close at 5pm." Lady responded to him, "When did we ever stay full hours"?! They also proceeded to turn off the lights in the pharmacy lobby while she was waiting at the window talking with them! They then asked for my wife's medication, and they responded that it was not there. Told them that we placed the order at their location. Lady was persistent that it was not there. The Male worker responded, "Just check the back." It ended up being there, and the fee worker nonchalant just said, "Ohh, I guess it is here, " as if not finding medication for people was not important. And had the audacity to say when we were leaving at 4:32pm, "Guess you were lucky you got here before we close"! Guess she was oblivious to her own operation hours at her own place of employment. I rather wait hours in line at Balboa. At least they are professional and not idle. Management needs to train their employees on proper work ethics and remind them of hours of operation."
"They get the job done is all I can really say. The lines are extremely long all the time so it takes about 2 hours to get to the window. It’s outside so there will be lots of standing and waiting in the hot sun. I’ve had no issues picking my prescriptions up from here but I do think they need more employees. Be ready to listen to a lot of angry people complaining about having to wait while you’re there haha."
"Always a long line. You can't talk to anyone in the pharmacy on the phone because they never pick up. They're very dismissive and make senior citizens wait in the hot sun for hours as they only allow one person in the lobby at a time while there's ONE snooty pharmacist behind a thick pane of glass. They have 4 to 5 other windows, but they won't staff them."
"It’s noon and these older patients many of them veterans are waiting in this long line in the hot sun, in the middle of a pandemic. Some of them with medical conditions that could cause heat exhaustion. Why is this pharmacy not open longer hours? Weekends? Or at least put out some kind of tent!!! Unacceptable"
