Reviews of Hemet Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Geriatric Medicine, Women's Health Clinic - Herman Mathias, M.D.
"This place is extremely unprofessional I’m not sure how they staff is still allowed to work there. The front desk medical biller Angelina gave an appointment to my girlfriend and the day of the appointment decided to cancel her and tired to tell she had an attitude. How could you tell someone that may have cancer that they have an appointment but then cancel their appointment the day of. That’s lying to a patient about being seen for their health. You would people in the medical field are there to help and not they just for a paycheck. It’s sad that people can’t get any care because lazy and unprofessional people who are just looking to collect a check. Also seeing the rest of these reviews how hasn’t this hospital been sued already. Legal actions will be made."
"The Dr office is horrible about trying to make the appointment the office is rude and the lady Angelina sets an appointment then cancel without your knowledge so when yuh call to confirm your appointment there isn’t one this place is HORRIBLE"
"Would definitely not recommend. The office staff is rude. The male nurse practitioner contradicts the doctor's assessment and is extremely rude. Be aware appointments are not on time when you arrive. When and if you finally get a doctor's appointment I must admit Dr. Saleh and Nicole were very nice and appeared competent. But good luck getting past all the other rude employees."
"Thank you Dr Henderson and Dr Murphy for the Professional Care provided to myself and my Mother. Thank you to Heidi at the front for helping keep communication going between myself and the Doctors on behalf of my Mother, and for going the Professional and Caring extra step to not just make sure my Mother had what she needed, but to make sure I was okay, as well, as I am my Mother's Primary Caregiver. Understanding that I, nor my Mother are not the only Patients, and that everyone is busy, so therefore clear and polite communication and patience is not only part for the Staff, but part for me, as well, when requesting care, helps everyone."
"My mother was a patient of Dr. Mathias but as of March began seeing Dr. Henderson because she missed a couple of appointments (he refused to see her). She was recently showing signs and symptoms of dementia that was the reason we were bringing my mom in to see the doctor (why she missed the appointments). Today, I tried to inform Dr. Henderson that my mother who is a dementia patient and has been at that office for years, was admitted to Kaiser, the reason why and and that she is going to be discharging soon. The person (Angelina) interrupts me and says “why did you take her to Kaiser.” Common sense suggests that, when there is a medical emergency you take the person to the closest hospital or emergency room that you can get to. Then after that, she said if you do not bring the medical records to the appointment tomorrow Dr. Henderson is going to be “very angry”. So I responded by saying “I only can do what I can do.” I’m assuming this is because they either don’t want to request medical records as most doctor offices do, want someone else to do their job for them or based on her reaction after I stated that my mother was at Kaiser they have a problem with dealing with Kaiser. Hospitals do not usually release diagnostic results and labs to patients they are sent to or requested by the primary. Me being a former Kaiser employee, a nurse and a current Kaiser member did not understand what was the big deal and why any professional would bluntly tell a person calling on behalf of a patient, that a medical professional such as a doctor would be angry if I did not bring the paperwork to an appointment that is literally scheduled in 24 hours. So while I’m already dealing with my mother who is elderly and a dementia patient being in the hospital after having a stroke, a medical professional tells me that if I don’t have something (MR’s) the person who will be providing care to my mother immediately after her discharge would be angry if I did not have the paperwork. So now I’m stressed out, trying to gather information and documentation so that I can avoid a doctor being very angry ….. After reading all the reviews that I just read, I believe everything the previous reviews say. And this is not the first time I have had a bad experience that’s why I decided to share this one. 5/6, My mother was not released or discharged by the day and time of her appointment (mentioned above)as we anticipated that she would be. I called to inform them that she would not be there prior to her appointment as soon as I knew. Her appointment was cancelled. After she was released they continued to give me the run around and even offered my mother who just got discharged an appointment in June! When discharged from the hospital, even if it’s an ER visit you are advised to have the patient follow up with primary provider within 3 days. This office knows this just as I do being a nurse. I told them that she cannot wait until June, that she just suffered a stroke and needs referrals for medical equipment and her blood pressure medications evaluated because they are not regulating her blood pressure. I was told someone would call me back. I called daily for the last two days to be given the run around and told that “a lot of patients just got discharged and they don’t have appointments” and that I would get a call back when they did. It’s sad that people know that these elderly patients are fragile and vulnerable and are at their mercy for their needs and that they take advantage of that. Today, I received a call back from Angelina, who reluctantly gave me her name after asking twice and being ignored and over talked because more than likely, have seen this review. She said that I missed an appointment for my mom on 4/27 and that I would be charged $25 if I missed another before the patient can be seen. I explained to her that I cancelled it before the appointment time and she said it had to be cancelled within 24 hours of the appointment. The appointment was made within 24 hours. And they knew my mom wasn’t discharged when I made the appointment. Petty."
