"The Santa Monica Pharmacy at 1932 Wilshire is sooo dirty. It needs a deep cleaning and a renovation. Just a cleaning would go a long way.. I don't want to touch anything or breathe the air it that pharmacy. Looking for an alternative soon."
"Man everyone has such harsh reviews.. This is my go to pharmacy store. Everyone at the pharmacy is nice, informative and easy to work with. I’ve had on-going prescriptions filled here and had my last booster shot here. The staff is professional and kind. I’ve also had a great experience with the woman in the cosmetics department! All I’ll say is that most stores, especially pharmacies are having shortages and don’t have as many people working right now. But patient & kind, they are doing their best."
"The worst experience I have ever had. The pharmacy staff incompetent, inept and disorganized. I made my appointment for a covid booster shot and filled out the vaccination form online. My appointment was at 9:10 am. I got there 10 minutes early and the line was already long. 1 hour and 20 minutes later I finally received my shot, after they managed to lose my papers (and other customers paperwork too). The person giving the vaccinations kept at least 9 people waiting for their shots as she took phone calls, handled prescriptions over the phone, and generally hung out in the back, when she should have been taking care of customers and giving them their shots. Their attitude toward me and others was unhelpful and rude, not one time did I hear 'sorry for keeping you waiting.' I will be taking my business elsewhere."
"Ridiculously understaffed pharmacy. Excessive wait times to drop off and pick up medications. And good luck getting them on the phone. Unfortunately, there is very little competition in the American pharmacy industry. CVS and Walgreens control more of the market than all of the other pharmacies in the U.S. combined. And many insurance plans effectively force you to go to either CVS or Walgreens. The customer service at Walgreens (and CVS, for that matter) is horrendous. They’re understaffed to the extreme — so they can squeeze out as much profit as possible. It often takes multiple phone calls and 10-20 minutes on hold before they even pick up the phone. They never bother to check whether medications are in stock — sometimes because the pharmacy staff is lazy, but more often because they’re totally understaffed. —— —— —— This is an excerpt from a January 2020 New York Times article: [In letters to state regulatory boards and in interviews with The New York Times, many pharmacists at companies like CVS, Rite Aid and Walgreens described understaffed and chaotic workplaces where they said it had become difficult to perform their jobs safely, putting the public at risk of medication errors. They struggle to fill prescriptions, give flu shots, tend the drive-through, answer phones, work the register, counsel patients and call doctors and insurance companies, they said — all the while racing to meet corporate performance metrics that they characterized as unreasonable and unsafe in an industry squeezed to do more with less.] —— —— —— This Walgreens is no exception. Ridiculously understaffed pharmacy. The irony is that these mega-pharmacy chains sold regulators on the absurd notion that less competition would actually improve the customer experience."
