Reviews of Joyce Weckl, Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner
"Joyce Weckl is my saving grace. She has been so patient with me in regard to me being scared to try new medications. Time and time again she has heard me, encouraged me, given that safe and needed slight push to get on the needed medications. She listens. She cares deeply about her clients. She is wonderful. As long as I need psychiatric services, she is the ONLY one I will see. I feel comfortable, heard and trust her completely."
"Never listen to me or my symptoms for more than 5 minutes. When I was told by my therapist i had all of the symptoms of inattentive adhd (something i previously didnt know exsisted) i tried to tell joyce that adhd meds would help more than anything or if not thar anxiety was really a lot worse than my depressiob. she said depression can cause lack of focus and anxiety so she was going to focus on that. HEY JOYCE KNOW WHAT CAN CAUSE DEPRESSION, THE INABILITY TO FOCUS OR DO THE THINGS YOU WANT BECAUSE YOUR BRAIN DOESNT PRODUCE ENOUGH DOPAMINE. The final staw however, after the complete lack of regard for my being. Joyce decided to put me on bipolar medication, i am not bipolar, never have been. she also didnt diagnose me with bipolar, or tell me that what those meds were for. they made me hallucinate. because im not bipolar. so i could never trust her after that stunt, she said i could always come back if i decided i needed meds, i dont think so joyce, i actually care if my psychiatrist thinks im a human being worth listening to. go get your money elsewhere."
"Waited over 30 minutes in the office to be seen. Dr. Brian Taylor was very rude, condescending, sarcastic, and unprofessional at best. He question west my intelligence level. He would ask me what an idiom meant when I didn’t know, because English is not my first language, he said forget it. Later I looked it up and he was was trying to tell me I criticize my family’s mental health history, when all I did was explain to him the history and also the fact some have illnesses which they do not seek help for. He made several more remarks and his facial expression (eyes since wearing a mask) reflected his annoyance, he would cut me off in sentence and would be annoyed when I asked him to clarify his question. He said he’d have my medicine ready day off, it was not. I called the office three times the next day. He was on vacation and the nurse was kind enough to text him. She said he’d go back to the cabin and fill the prescriptions . Again I called the pharmacy and nothing is ready. I call after hours hotline and he calls me back saying he forgot and apologized and that he doesn’t get internet reception where he is (Big Bear has internet reception) he just didn’t want to do his job and for whatever reason didn’t like me so he wanted me continue to suffer with out my needed medications. Very disappointed, never had such a horrible experience with a medical professional. Do not recommend seeing him."
"Compassionate? Sure to a degree. Considering how short the sessions are, I certainly felt rushed when the time was up. Not really sure if we really made any progress besides quickly being prescribed yet another medication. Like previously stated by another client, this office may claim compassion and client care as a priority but you can expect that to be thrown out the window when it comes to money. Late because of unforeseen occurrence, like a traffic jam due to an accident - oh well - Joyce Weckle wants her money. 3 minutes late, my appointment is cancelled and I'm charged over a hundred dollars. Real understanding and compassionate."
"A skilled, compassionate and insightful provider. Her office was clean and the staff was very welcoming and knowledgeable. Joyce's unique background and experience really make a difference as evident in the quality care she provides."
