"Went to Dr. L Chen for a foot problem I’ve been having for over 7 months. Prior tendon tear and chronic pain due to an alien problem. She didn’t have a good answer for me, and told me to basically deal with it. The only good thing I got out of the visit was the fact that she re-iterated that it’s not a structural issue (which I already knew due to past x-rays). She didn’t recommend further testing and did not even suggest a follow up. She basically washed her hands off the situation like it was above her. I found her to be disinterested as well. One thing that really got to me was that she was trying to manipulate my ankles to test the mobility and hyperextended my bad ankle with no proper care and I actually said “ouch.” My ankle is more swollen than usual since my visit, and feels like my tendon has gotten re-injured. Time will tell the extent of what impact that it had, but my physical therapist today also noticed the swelling and the impact that movement could have had. I do not recommend this doctor at all. The resident doctor who saw me before her was more competent and seemed to be more empathetic than her."
"I visited Dr. Patricia Zheng yesterday at UCSF clinic Redwood City. This doctor gave me an injection into L 3, 4, and 5 for pain about one year ago. I have had fantastic relief, Dr Zheng is friendly, kind and very professional."
"Dr Chen is an excellent doctor. She was so professional and put me at ease. Any follow-up I have had has been expedient. But no other trace"
"Dr Chan was clear, and concise in explaining my ankle problem. She gave me the options to do and renewed hope that dispite my severe arthritis and being 81, that I could improve and sustain my walking for years to come. A bright , pleasant , and no nonsense physician."
"I fractured my ankle in 2 places and was informed at the ER that I will need surgery. I went to my primary physician for a referral to an orthopedic surgeon and she told me that my fracture was quite interesting, and she had never seen anything like it. Fortunately, I was referred to Dr Lan Chen who specializes in foot and ankle surgery and she reassured me that my fracture was not all that uncommon, and she had performed many surgeries similar to that of mine. I was put at ease and Dr. Chen wrote down everything I needed to do before my surgery. The day of the surgery, she came by to see how I was doing during pre-op as well as post-op and answered any questions or concerns I had. She called me the next day to see how I was doing and made sure I had all the medications that were ordered, and that the dosage was correct. I really felt well taken care of by her and her team. She showed the same level of care at my follow-up visits. Dr. Chen is not only a skilled surgeon but the care she provides to her patients is first rate. She and her team are there for you and will do everything they can to make sure your surgery is a success."
