"Over 3 years late with this review but I wanted to share with others. Dr. Basi is incredible. I spent most of my adult life trying to "fix" issues with my health. Constant hunger AFTER eating a full meal, exhaustion, severe weight fluctuations, digestive issues, food sensitivities. I saw specialists, doctors- tried holistic and pharmaceutical methods. Committed to one food diet after another. Doctirs didnt listen and their diagnoses were lazy, contradictory and uninformed. If I could live thru weeks and months of restrictive diets, how could overeating be the issue? And if I'm exhausted because I'm not eating enough then why was I gaining weight? Dr. Basi asked alot of questions. He discussed possible causes for symptoms, eliminating certain ones as we went over my past history and the things I'd tried or medications I'd taken. He was the first doctor to suggest I had ADHD. I rejected the idea immediately. With no understanding of what it was, I knew I didn't have it. He commented that he'd noticed a resistence to the idea amongst certain ethnic groups. Culturally, there appeared to be a strong bias against the idea there might be something wrong or "different" with their brains, even when they'd exhausted every other possible avenue in the search for answers. He gave me information on ADHD - the physiological connections between our minds and bodies and encouraged me to see a specialist. I was diagnosed with ADHD as was my son, who'd struggled with similar issues all his life. For both of us, it's been life changing Most of the physical issues I'd had, went away. Until then, I'd attributed my inability to focus on exhaustion or laziness. I'd believed these were faults of my personality. If there are others suffering with these conditions, I highly recommend Dr. Basi. While this may not be the reason for your symptoms, he is knowledgeable and experienced with this particular set of circumstances. He may not have the answer to ur problems but he wont give you lazy answers and out of date solutions on diet and exercise. He's not dismissive of the issues you deal with each day. I hope this review guides others to see him. For all the positive changes in our quality of life, both physically and mentally, I am forever grateful to Dr. Basi and his wisdom"
