"Nice building but many of the employees working here are sub par. The location is clean and safe, the building is well maintained and there are lots of TV's and an area for kids to play. The biggest problem is the staff, especially at reception. The woman working at the front desk has an attitude problem and acts as if she doesn't want to be there. She was rude and provided little help in answering even the most basic questions. The majority of the medical staff take their jobs seriously, but there are a handful that behave as if working at this clinic is not something that they need to take seriously. Also setting up appointments is overly complicated and must be made on average 6 weeks into the future. A better management and change of attitude with many of the employees could really make this clinic into an exceptional establishment, but sadly right now it is sub standard."
"Five-Star health and dental care in Yolo County. We are incredibly fortunate to have the highly skilled professionals who work at CommuniCare care for us. Every doctor, nurse, dentist, therapist, advocate, social services champion, administrative staff member, lab technician, cleaner, volunteers, and board member are extraordinary. The facilities are thoughtfully designed and spotless. We always leave with a smile on our faces. The community garden CommuniCare hosts in Woodland is fabulous. We have been introduced to new vegetables, freely offered in the waiting room. How many healthcare facilities offer visitors fresh produce? This is everything social medicine is meant to be. We wish everyone in the world had access to such skilled and compassionate care."
"I went here for prenatal+postpartum care. The midwives are amazing. I saw many and only one was just a bit rude, but everyone else was fantastic and trauma informed. The staff is also impeccable. My son also briefly saw a pediatrician, Dr Phillips, here before having to switch because of his insurance changing. He has absolutely amazing bedside manner. There were a few moments where he just chatted with us about our new baby and really made sure we felt okay, especially while in the newborn stage. He's gentle, open-minded, and the best doctor I've ever interacted with, pediatrician or not! If I could've stayed, I would have."
"I initially received god service from the dental area when I was between having and not having insurance. I went because it was affordable and accessible. However, I tried to call to reschedule an appointment yesterday and the person kept hanging up when they were attempting to pick up the phone from being on hold. It happened several times, so I could not even get through to cancel and reschedule my appointment. This took over a 1/2 hour of my time and I was calling the day before, so they could fill the appointment. As a result, I had to cancel the appointment the day of my appointment at 8:00 a.m. since I could not get through the previous day. The receptionist said, “We can’t reschedule you because you canceled in April.” I responded, “Yes, I was sick. Do you want sick people coming to appointments?” I did not have COVID but who penalizes a person for rescheduling an appointment because they are sick? Especially during the pandemic. I spent more than a reasonable amount of time this morning trying to explain to this receptionist multiple times so she could understand the situation. She said she took notes and will let her supervisor know and said “We know how to use the phones here in dental.” Apparently not because the person yesterday kept disconnecting me when trying to pick up the phone. It was frustrating. Lots of money was spent on refurbishing the building, but apparently time and resources need to be spent on training, creating better policies and procedures, and the phone system. I have heard about this problem from others before and I have now experienced it. This is not professional and needs to be fixed immediately."
