"Was injured at work, went to Urgent care. Had to have a follow-up appointment, no one there at Kaiser informed me that any future visits had to go through Occupational Health, Got the run around on the phone, as usual. Tried calling several times to provide them with billing information from my employer, received one call back after numerous attempts, only to have a rude broad run her mouth while I was trying to provide her with the info. I hung up."
"If you have a torn muscle received on the job. It will be diagnosed as a small tear or sprain. The doctor will tell you he will request an MRI. It will get blocked and you will be forced to do physical therapy and told to return to work. Kaiser policy is to deny an MRI unless the Doctor says the patient has a large tear. HOW ARE YOU GOING TO KNOW ANYTHING WITHOUT THE MRI TO BEGIN WITH, let alone if you have a small or large tear, a sprain or an injury at all. This isn’t my suspicion, this happened to me. The Doctor I seen at my first occupational health visit told me that’s how it’s done there. He wrote down I have a small tear or sprain. Gave me printouts of stretches I can do, I can’t even brush my teeth with my right hand. Here is the icing on the cake. Before that visit I went to urgent care at Kaiser. The on-duty Doctor upon examination said I possibly have two severe tears and I need an MRI. I don’t get scheduled for my next visit for 15days. Then it will be another 15 days and I’ll be told I was denied an MRI. When you get injured playing sports let’s say your shoulder. X-ray and MRI. It’s borderline gross negligence what is common practice here. My injury is a rotator cuff that I reported to my employer who decided to wait until my shoulder was jello and I refused to go to work until I got fixed. But I have a small sprain or tear, here do some stretches."
