"Worst medical office visit ever. Unprofessional and unorganized front desk. The same for the medical assistant who came back to escort us to a room that was not even ready, all with an attitude. Quickly realized there was no way we would let a surgeon treat my daughter foot injury based on this alone. Wake up doctors, you are losing business and your reputation by how your support staff is treating patients. Is anyone paying attention here? Glad we walked out, complete waste of time and energy."
"And begrudgingly giving Newport orthopedic two stars. This is not because of the doctors, I see 3 of them. I can also give high praise for the surgeon I've seen. The problem is the TOTAL mismanagement of their operation. Phone service is a complete nightmare. Often they just don't do what they say they will. Messages don't get to doctors, appointments go missing when we arrive and they tell us to come back at another time or a different day. I'm sorry, their time is frankly no more valuable than mine.Billing has been wrong on three occasions now. Getting it corrected was very difficult and had to get them on the phone with insurance before it was settled. Waiting times used to be very bad. Now the waiting rooms are far less packed. I'm told they stopped taking some insurance. If you want to avoid these headaches then avoid Newport Orthopedic.Perhaps one day they will hire someone that can right the ship."
"TERRIBLE!!!! Appt at 9:20am, got there at 9:05, waited 25 minutes to get into a room, waited another 20+ minutes before Dr came in, she was with my dad for 3 minutes!! My dad needs medical transportation and the transport company texted me saying if the appointment wasn’t over by 11:15, there would be an issue because the driver has another pick up at 12pm. We left at 11:00. I can’t believe the disregard for someone’s time. My dad also has a difficult time sitting in a wheelchair for extended periods of time, this is a problem. I cannot recommend this facility. Waiting time grade: F"
"I have never written a review before, but this place has caused a nightmare for me. The surgeons have done a good job with my knee, but billing and such has been terrible. They wrongfully charged me for a knee brace that I told them I didn't need, so I returned it like billing told me to. I have been talking for billing for a long time to get this taken off. They then send me to collections when I should not have even been charged for this brace. This has had a huge affect on my credit which I have never had an issue with. On a second note, be careful with them because even if they are under your insurance they might have an assistant surgeon that is not. This happened to me and was a large payment that I had to pay. If you are not worried about money, then this place does a good job. Otherwise, they are a nightmare and a headache for the billing side."
"First time writing a review for a spine surgeon who is well deserved. When I met Dr Richard S. Lee I was sitting in a wheelchair, unable to walk due to extreme nerve pain that other doctors seemed to think it is just a pulled muscle. After his evaluation with X rays and MRI he recommended surgery to my lumbar region. I did not want to waste time with epidural shots but rather get to the root cause of the problem and have Dr Lee perform the major surgery. Dr Lee scheduled me in quickly in his busy schedule as I could not walk for 5 weeks. The day after surgery, I was able to walk in a walker in the hospital. I surprised myself as well as the physical therapist. I continue to recover after discharge and now I can walk 40-45 minutes a day outside of my house by myself with a cane. I was also able to go up and down the stairs at home after discharge with a cane. Dr Lee explained to me in detail at the follow up appointment what was done during surgery and what to expect during recovery. The only negative was when a medical assistant tried to remove my staples on my back at the follow up appointment with Dr Lee. She was not properly trained and caused a lot of pain. I almost fainted and the office lead Michael had to take over. Michael was experienced and removed all the staples without further incident. Thanks to Dr Lee who did a wonderful job and his team who checked on me daily via text link from his office. I highly recommend Dr Lee as he gave me my life back! I will never take walking for granted. I do not believe in miracles, but now I do."
