Reviews of VA Escondido Clinic
"Military veterans beware of Dr. Sanjay M. Rajpara. I had a horrible experience with Dr. S. Rajpara. His treatment of military veterans is despicable. I came into the clinic to review my x-rays and to talk about further requests. He was very hostile, rude, and condescending to me. It’s a shame that the Escondido VA clinic would hire somebody like this to take care of the military veterans. Military veterans have gone through enough in the military, they don’t deserve to be berated when trying to obtain medical care. I never want to see and get care from Dr. Sanjay M. Rajpara ever again. Military veterans, I would advise you to seek another doctor instead of going through the harassment that I experienced with Dr. Sanjay M. Rajpara."
"Everything you've ever heard about the VA is correct, and no, it still hasn't gotten any better."
"I went in for blood work and the gentleman behind the counter just left me standing there. I finally said I think I'll just have a seat and he goes okay. He calls me in but he doesn't show me like where the door is or anything I had to figure it out myself. The rest of the visit he seemed to have a very sarcastic tone."
"Awful! I can’t believe the terrible service I got. I had an annual physical that only took 10 minutes to do. Although I’m healthy thank goodness and my labs came back great, I felt like I wasn’t a concern to them. I came in and the staff was doing their own thing, gossiping, no big deal I don’t care, but not very professional. I sat down waited a few minutes. Then went to the back to get my blood pressure check etc. the nurse was nice and asked the right questions. Waited for the doctor, she came in a few minutes later. I had a hard time understanding her and her accent, but she was very nice. Although, I didn’t get asked the questions I have been asked before on my physicals in Mission Valley. She did the same checks that I normally get which was fine. But I felt like it was lacking like in the past when they asked more in depth questions like do you feel safe do you have a place to call home etc. Once I was done I felt I bit confused. Do I need to make an appt. for women’s health check up at the front desk? So I asked the front desk if I needed to make my Pap smear and mammogram appt. with her. Once I said that a woman in another chair turned and looked over to us very quickly. Not sure what that was all about but felt uncomfortable after. The woman in the front desk didn’t know so she went to ask the nurse in the back when she came back she said she couldn’t find her so I just said I would call later. That was all 10 minutes of my time. The Oceanside location is awesome. It’s a bigger facility with great customer service and I feel so special when I go there every time, sound cheesy, but they make you feel like they care. Too bad because the Escondido location is so close but small and I feel like the people that work there seem over it, like they hate their job’s, unfortunately that’s not the patient’s fault …why do I feel like I’m at fault? Shame on them."
"I called this VA (mental health) location regarding a personal issue. The operator on the phone (I didn’t catch his name) told me to give him a minute and he would get right back to me. He called me back within minutes and resolved my issue. He was caring, genuine, and really showed that he cares about the veterans that come here. I thanked him and he told me that he cares. Little things like that give me confidence in the VA and changed my perception of the VA. Thank you again for making me feel like a human and not just another number."
