Reviews of Choice Psychiatric Medical Group
"Impossible to get a hold of anyone. They answer the phone and put you on hold right away and never come back to the line. I've been trying all day. Also online intake forms are impossible to complete. Has no way of editing it or anything."
"Honestly one of the most demeaning first time doctor experiences I've ever had. I had Dr. Kaja, and made an appointment before reading the reviews. I was having problems doing the intake form online, and I let them know, and told them I could reschedule if that wasn't okay. They said it was no problem, and that the psychiatrist could help me fill it out. After calling me and then having to hang up to confirm things two times, we finally started our appointment. He berated me and laughed at me for not completing the form even after I told him the reasoning and how the receptionist had said we could fill it out together. He said that was fine, then started apathetically asking me about my trauma. When I would try and respond during sentences, or I would ask him to repeat the question, he would get annoyed with me. When I was telling him about my trauma, he cut me off once again and raised his voice at me to ask me why I didn't put it on the form. At that point, I went quiet, and told him I didn't like the tone he was using with me and I do not want to continue the appointment. He then mumbled "Well, if you would had filled out the paperwork, I could help you." Then spoke up and tried to continue the appointment. I told him I had told him and the receptionist why multiple times, even asking to reschedule if it was too big of a hassle, but now hearing how he speaks to people I didn't want to move forward with him. He tried to continue the appointment. After that, I just told him to have a good day, and hung up after he replied. Honestly, this has to be one of my worst first-time experiences with a psychiatrist ever. Word of advice: no amount of qualifications will make up for lack of apathy and snarkiness. Do not come into the mental health field if you do not have compassion toward your patients. Also, if you are going to be having appointments held online or over the phone, please make sure that the intake forms sent over are able to be filled out online. Thank you."
"I’m sad for those who’ve had an awful experience. I hope that changes. I’m lucky to have had a different experience. I’ve been going to Dr. Faizi for about 2 years or so and she’s been incredibly helpful. Every appointment I’ve had with her there is always genuine care in her voice. The first appointment I had with her was a bit… underwhelming and I was worried that this wasn’t going to work but since then, I’m really thankful that I’ve kept seeing her. I’ve left her voicemails in the past and I’ve always got a call back."
"If I could give 0 stars I would. Please do not come here they will make you feel worse. I have Kaiser and got contracted out to this place. Not only does he call me 30 minutes before my appointment (hello I work?) but doesn’t state who he is and tells me “so what’s wrong what do you need?” I asked if this was the actual appointment or questions since I couldn’t fill out the paperwork (I emailed them twice to send out a fillable form and they ignored me) then he proceeds to say “This is how it works right? I am the doctor you are the patient, you have something wrong with you and I am a doctor so I find out a diagnosis and prescribe you what you need, that’s how it works.” I told him I’d be requesting a new place to be seen and hung up. DO NOT go here he’s so rude and how is he even a doctor?? Horrible. Don’t come here, hope they get rid of him. He is in a career that is so sensitive why would he be so rude?"
"A singularly awful experience that started with scheduling. Via Kaiser, I made an appointment for 2 pm for a telehealth session. I got an email from Choice confirming the date and time. By noon on the day-of, I hadn’t received a Zoom link or similar, so I called them. Turns out the appointment had been moved to 12 noon without telling me, and it was simply a phone call. Thank god I called when I did. But that pales in comparison to the ‘treatment’ I received. I was diagnosed bipolar 2 about 10 years ago and have since had 3 additional psychiatrists reach the same diagnosis. Yet Khaja, in a minute flat and over the phone, questioned whether what I described as a manic episode was, in fact. It gets worse. I have crippling ADHD but in about 30 seconds, he concluded that because I have a college education, I didn’t really have ADHD and therefore he wouldn’t treat me for it. I begged him to look at the medical records I’d provided but to no avail. Overall, he was rude, dismissive and devoid of any human caring. Wishing I’d read these reviews prior. Khaja’s behavior borders on malpractice with his refusal to treat a clinical condition. He is smug and assumes he can understand a patient’s medical history in 3 minutes over the phone without reviewing their records. And he must take a perverse delight in inflaming their precarious mental states, thereby violating his Hippocratic oath to first, do no harm. Avoid at all costs."
