Reviews of Murrieta Family Medicine, Geriatric Medicine, Women's Health Clinic - Michael Curley, M.D.
"They have amazing service and I can gladly say they continuously set the standard from start to finish during the process of getting my teeth perfectly straight!"
"I’ve only been with this office for one week and won’t be going back. I was given three referrals, one expedited for an endocrinologist. I left a VM with that number last Wednesday and then got a call from Medical Asst Danielle before 8am on Friday, August 18. Danielle asked me to call the endo again and let them know it was expedited so I could be seen soon. I followed this advice and immediately called the number Danielle provided again. It was the same number from Wednesday. This time, I spoke with a live person. However, they had never heard of the endocrinologist Dr Uzma whom I was calling about. Likely this is because they are a weight loss clinic. I immediately tried to return call from the number Danielle had reached me from. However, I reached a recorded message from Dr Curleys office that did not allow for leaving a voicemail (though it is possible if I had chose the option of this being a life-threatening emergency, maybe someone would have talked to me then? Not sure, and didn’t want to lie). I tried a few different times and searched for other numbers or an email, finding nothing. I realized they must not accept voicemails until the office opened, at 8:30am. While I’m not sure why such a policy would exist, I later learned that Dr Michael Curleys office also does not accept voicemail during their lunch break. I waited until 8:30am to call back, and spent that time calling the sleep referral. As had occurred on Wednesday, I received a Verizon message that this caller was not available. I had told Danielle about my previous experience calling the sleep referral, but she said to try again. I also took the time to google Dr Uzma, where I discovered that her office was slightly farther than I had hoped from my home and in an area I was unfamiliar with. I was willing to make that commute, until I saw a series of ratings from different Dr rating sites which all rated Dr Uzma 2 or 3 stars out of 5. At 8:31am, I called back and left a message detailing my trouble with the sleep medicine referral and requesting a new number/doctor for that. I also explained that I needed a new endo referral since a) that number was wrong and b) that endo was bad. I did not receive a return phone call from any member of Dr Curleys office on Friday or through 1pm today (Monday, August 21). This includes Nurse Practitioner Crystal Gutierrez, who had been assigned to me as my Primary Care Physician. This assignment came despite my having requested Dr Curley and having his name on my insurance card after that request was processed. This morning, I was able to redirect my referral for an endo and sleep medicine thanks to help from IEHP — my insurance as of June. The representatives for IEHP were so helpful, that my new endo referral was completed by 10am and I had an appointment (after talking to the right person on the first call!) by 11am. This endo was actually less than 10 miles from my home and in the same city as the office of Dr Michael Curley. This endo, Dr Patricia Park, also met the one criteria Nurse Practitioner Crystal Gutierrez said she could follow in finding me a new endo, that being a non-male endo due to a negative experience with my prior egomaniacal male endocrinologist, Dr Steven Edelman. I will be ok, however being ignored by new medical partners for my health is VERY concerning. I’m not sure if Friday and also Monday were just too gosh darn busy for the doctors, nurse practitioners who also serve as primary care physicians, and other staff of the office of Dr Michael Curley. However, I am left with the distinct impression that this office and its employees are far more focused on quantity, as opposed to quality, when it comes to providing medical care. That is a shame. I will never speak with or return to this location, and advise anyone considering a switch to the office of Dr Michael Curley to spend your own time finding literally any alternative to their “practice”. In this case, practice makes far from perfect."
"My wife and I have been using Dr Curley for over 5 years. He is a great doctor, and he actually listens to you! Very professional, but easy to talk to. My wife also uses Dr Curley and likes him as well. A good choice!"
"The front office lady was very unprofessional, yelling out to a patient that he couldn't be seen if he didn't have insurance, then when he explained to her that he hit his deductible she raised her voice and said "well you should've said that in the first place!" She then yelled out that he was ready to be seen to someone in the back. I felt humiliated for him. She was also not wearing a mask even though it is posted that everyone wear one. This was my first experience at Dr.Curly's office and it really was a bad one. The front office lady should learn about manners and how to speak to patients as well as wearing a mask!!!!"
"My 71 year old Mother went to this Dr today and came home in tears. He instantly accused her of abusing meds, told her she is not in any pain and told her he is in pain too and will not prescribe her any medication for pain... told her to take Advil, she replied that Advil doesn’t work very well and he told her that all addicts say that. He was reading her past medications that was prescribed to her when she was in the hospital, inaccurate information, and claimed that she didn’t almost die etc. Overall he was very rude and his hygiene was very poor. Please take all these reviews seriously... do not take any loved ones to this sad excuse for a Dr."
