Reviews of Santa Barbara County Mental Health Services - Santa Maria Facility
"The med nurses and therapist ignore all calls, voicemails and faxes from both the patient and the pharmacy, so updates to medications and rescheduling appointments is impossible."
"They hardly answer the phone. They seem to only use voicemail. After leaving a voicemail they take ages to respond. The therapist I was provided is amazing but EVERY SINGLE TIME I've EVER tried to make an appointment with an psychiatrist, they never answer."
"This place is the best example of what is wrong with America's mental health care system. The secretaries at the front desk barely speak a word of the English language and are difficult to understand. It took an hour for the secretary to schedule my appointment. If you are having issues then please go somewhere else as you will not receive the adequate care that you need."
"My experience with the mental health facility has been really frustrating. I was able to get in and talk to the the doctor within 24 hours and get some meds only because I had an anxiety attack in one of the therapist's office and only because I'm a veteran. I can't imagine how long it could take for anyone else if they felt it was an emergency. The only reason I went here in the first place is because the VA didn't have a psychiatrist or a med prescriber at the time I needed meds. Also the amount of real care in the mental health community in America seems to be extremely lacking. Especially for those who can't afford a psychiatrist or psychologist or weekly care. I really wish was more mental health help available in general anywhere. There seem to be so few public places to go besides a bar or a church to get out of the house and talk to people about life. There also seem to be so few places to go to get real help from someone who isnt in it for the money or who you can only talk to for an hour a week."
"Elodie Patarias will make you disappear even if you're falling over dying. She let's young little girls distract grown woman by not letting us see the doctor even when medication is absolutely crucial for your health. Elodie is head hancho. She will get rude if she has to. I used to be her favorite client, so her ex boss says, for all I know she was manipulative towards him as well. Anyway Elodie isn't a fair individual. She was left in charge of the whole facility. Now secretaries are mean and ready to box. Security guards will talk to you about fakers and manipulation IN the waiting room. The analysis IN the back is two little girls who don't even get along. For real patients who needs meds, like myself. My name is Evette Diaz by the way. Well are turned away by A CWS worker, who took my kids away from me in 2010, Elodie hired her on board after she booted me out of mental health and now when I go into mental health to try to see my new Dress, Elodie will throw the woman who took my three boys away from me at my face and make that little greedy monster, Mayra Gonzales (the CWS worker )."
