Artisan Excursion Wine Tours

"The Artisan Wine Tour experience began with Tom, Owner & Proprietor, arriving early in his clean Ford Transit. He offers a little step stool making it easy to get into the van. Because it was a rainy Tuesday morning, my mother and I had the van all to ourselves. This wine tour was unlike others I've done in the sense that it felt very tailored. From the first stop to the last, we had one on one service with the wine makers and sellers spending about 1.5 to 2 hours at each location. This is not the tour for the rambunctious Gen Z crowd. If you're looking to get wasted, I suggest Temecula or even the Funk Zone in Santa Barbara. This is a classy wine tour that is very educational. Of course, you will get a happy buzz, or even drunk if you'd like, as there is plenty of wine to taste. The tastings are included in the price, but there are light expectations to purchase wine, which we did at each of the three stops. Each stop was more heavy on the red varietals. Lunch was a delicious half sandwich. I ordered the roast beef; mom ordered the Italian. The bread was spectacular. The sandwiches are not toasted. If my husband had come, he likely would have needed a full sandwich, so keep that in mind when ordering. Lunch was served at the second stop and we were ready for them. The scenery right now in the valleys are stunning and picturesque. Everything is so green. There is water flowing everywhere. You’re surprised you’re in California, considering what our cities are looking like these days. I’ve found Santa Barbara has gotten quite dirty, so it was refreshingly pleasant to walk among the streets in Solvang and surrounding towns, as they are pristine. People showed kindness in abundance every stop we made. Tom was kind and matched your engagement level. He sat in the background visiting with staff, and didn’t interrupt your experience with the wine makers."

"Via Artisan Excursion Wine Tours, my sister and I visited 3 small winemakers and had a wonderful time. We loved the one on one with our driver, Tom, and with all the winemakers. Such a customized, intimate experience. Much better than the bigger company experience I had a couple years ago. Tom is very friendly and laidback. He doesn’t rush you along.
