Reviews
"I have been to this clinic a few times and the care team is fantastic. Their treatment modalities are top notch. My husband has also been there and his back pain resolved after the second injection they provided. The docs here are amazing, epicurean Dr Kao. The front and back office team are excellent."
"I have been so pleased with my treatment at this clinic. The empathy and concern shown by the doctors, as well as the knowledge about my conditions that has been lacking in other offices, has made the drive to this location worth the hassle. Being treated for chronic pain by anesthesiologists has been life changing."
"I would not use Stanford Pain Management. My experience is that the practice demonstrated serious issues w ethics, how they treated me and how they documented info in my medical file. I would not accept treatment from them again. I experienced a heavy bias against me as a woman. I was not listened to, I was spoken to in a condescending way and I was not treated as the expert on my own pain and experience."
"Be very careful with this clinic. I had been getting treated for pain for two years and then they offered me group therapy. Everything was covered by my insurance and was in network. But suddenly I find out that the doctor running these sessions is not in network. Now I have bills for thousands of dollars. I have been trying to follow up with them but it’s so hard to get people on the phone. They had told me that they are trying to work it out and not to pay the amount but now they have sent the bills to collections!!! I’m so frustrated and upset."
"I came to Stanford Pain Clinic to be treated for chronic pain due to EDS. I was assigned to a nurse practitioner as the Dr. was unavailable. She came into the room laughing on her cellphone, and texted during our appointment. She even walked out to take a personal phone call where I overheard her talking about a vacation. Very professional. I explained my medical history and symptoms, and she made the decision to prescribe tylenol, celebrex, and gabapentin. I told her that I could not take gabapentin, as it has caused mild hallucinations for me in the past. She laughed and replied that I would be “Just fine.” I once again voiced my concern about her treatment plan, and she accused me of being a drug seeker, and lectured me about my “lack of motivation” to improve my quality of life. I developed GI problems on this treatment, including bleeding. But every time I tried to reach out to the NP, she was never available. I am still appalled at the lack of professionalism that was displayed in this visit, and how it left me feeling dismissed and profiled. If you are enduring chronic pain, please do not allow Stanford to treat you."
