Reviews of Southeastern Minnesota Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery
"Excellent care! All the staff were friendly, respectful & positive. I felt valued as a client!"
"Friendly and very professional staff. Dreaded having five broken teeth pulled/cut out. Needless worry. No pain during or after. Followup instructions work perfectally. Four days later no complications. Great experience"
"I would like to say what a wonderful experience it was for my husband to get his wisdom teeth out. The check in was quick and easy. The staff (Jonni and Amy) were very professional and thorough with post op instructions. My husband really appreciated being explained the procedure before, during and aftercare. Dr.Merrill did a great job of keeping him comfortable and informed, he states he felt minimal anxiety due to all the information at the consultation he received and all questions were answered. 5 stars!!!! Would recommend Southeastern Minnesota Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery to anyone in need of extractions! Thank you for doing such a great job and taking great care of my husband!"
"I had an infected wisdom tooth that had fused to my jawbone extracted at Mayo a few months ago. I am 81 and would compare the pain, of the wisdom tooth extraction very similar, even under the influence of Oxycodone, to one of my two knee replacement surgeries. So when I found out I needed to get another tooth removed right next to the previously extracted wisdom tooth next week. I couldn't sleep thinking about the pain I would soon have to endure again. I was ushered into the operating room, I tried to engage the Doctor in idle chatter to delay the inevitable for a bit longer. It didn't work as I was soon cut off by the Doctor with the words, well let's get started. I even told her I was very careful in following directions on the use of Oxycodone hoping she might reconsider the Oxy option instead of Tylenol. None of my conversations put my mind at ease. The procedure started with a numbing agent rubbed on my gum area then the first needle, just a minor prick then a second slightly more painful then the third needle. I can't lie this last one was extremely painful but lasted only a few seconds as its pain-killing fluid emptied into my gum in less than 3-4 seconds. After a few minutes, all the freezing took place and after a few more minutes, the tooth came out all in one piece. I read the office brochure, with all the food that was allowed for the next few days along with how to medicate without oxycodone. Now this next paragraph has not been embellished one bit. Even though the brochure said to expect some jaw pain and face swelling over the next few days. I can honestly say I had no pain or swelling absolutely zero The first day, I slept great, and now heading into the fourth day, still no repercussions. One of the better surprises in my last few years."
"Leading up to my visit not only was I dealing with pain and discomfort, but also felt self conscious and slightly embarrassed on the condition of my mouth. From the moment I arrived as well as throughout my procedure upon exiting, the staff went above and beyond to make me feel comfortable and entire process a breeze! Very thankful for such a caring staff! Thank you!"
