"Was with West Bend for 20+ years. Advised me I needed a new roof. No problem, agreed it was probably a good idea since we were planning to sell in the near future anyway. Replaced roof and told agent. Received annual premium notice a few months later - huge increase. Contacted agent - no response. West Bend won't respond to inquiries - tells you to always go through agent. Found out agent in Green Bay had dropped West Bend and my policy had been assigned to an agency in Shawano (40 miles away). Are you kidding me? Shopped round and got policy for house/cars/liability that was 50% cheaper than West Bend. As a bonus, the agent's office is 1/2 mile from my home and he actually returns my calls and quickly responds to my texts/emails. Thanks State Farm!"
