Reviews of Pulmonary Medicine: Sutter Roseville Medical Center
"I haven't started seeing this group. The bad experience I have is with the Scheduler Sherrie. She was not very professional enough. My Primary doctor just made the referral to this group but talking with the Scheduler having a bad experience is not planning to go on with this group."
"I want start by saying thank you ro Dr Riar for writing the order to send to Timberlake so that I could receive my new cpap device .I also had a nice video conference with Dr Riar, moreover I will just say that I do not think Dr Riar is aware of the condescending , phlippant and insensitive attitudes towards patients or clients whatever you choose to refer to those asking your help in getting the cpap machine replaced I will not name anyone's name however I have spoken with mutual facilities that deal with pulmonary medicine that have encountered similar issues and attitudes from some staff at Dr Riar's office ."
"My Father was admitted to the hospital last month. He was tested positive for COVID 19. I met Dr. Seng on the phone the next morning. (Even though I respectfully asked him to come downstairs and speak with me face to face as I was already at the hospital. Dr. Seng replied to me stating that he can't do that because he is too busy.) As I spoke with him on the phone, Dr. Seng was very cold, rude and apathetic and emphasized that my dad needs to be urgently intubated. He wasn't interested in listening to my concerns or even sharing his concerns of intubation. Not to mention, Dr. Seng never mentioned the bipap mask as an option for my dad and the ICU team only tried the bipap that same evening after our phone call and my dad ended up doing well on bipap. In a few days a social worker called me and told me she spoke with my dad about possible intubation. (Even though his oxygen saturation was stable) I asked the social worker kindly to not tell my dad any negative results regarding his health due to his language barrier and his stress level because that same day my dad called my sister from his cell phone under huge amount of stress, worry and anxiety stating that they told him that he is very sick and needs intubation. Everyday I called in and asked the ICU team to not share the poor health results with my dad (as it impacts him negatively ) and rather have them speak to me first because I know better how to approach my dad (in his native language) and would rather have it come from his own family member as I have been caring for him for the past 7 years. Few days later after the first social work visit, Dr. Sang did not honor my request and intentionally scheduled yet another meeting not only with a social worker , but with the entire palliative team this time. Few hours later that same day that the meeting occurred, my dad called my sister and I, again in severe distress and extreme anxiety saying the doctor told him He is dying and needed to be intubated. (I do want to point out that my dad stated previously to them that he did not want the intubation). This time my sister and I tried calming him down but nothing was working. That same day my dad's oxygen level dropped like never before and they put him back on bipap. On the bibpap his oxygen saturation was in the 90s. Dr. Gordan (night shift doctor) called me the next morning at 1:30 A.M. stating that if my dad doesn't get intubated he will die. What surprised me is that he never shared any concerns regarding intubation instead talked about it as just another treatment and created this idea that intubation will save my dad's life. Furthermore, they ended up intubating my dad and in about 5 hours my dad's organs started to shut down. Later that week my dad passed away. My mom, family and I were shocked, hurt, and broken beyond words. I came to this conclusion, my dad didn't pass due to COVID 19. However; acute stress, loneliness, ambush, and medical maltreatment was the cause of his death. To all who are reading this, I am here to share my experience and inform you; therefore, choose your doctors wisely. With that being said, Dr. Seng and Dr. Gordan in the Pulmonary Roseville Department have lost my respect and trust; I will ensure that none of my family members will be under their care ever again."
